Hey folks,

Just thought I would post about my upgrade. I just placed my order today for two new M60s (v3) and a VP160 center. I've had my existing M60s and a VP150 center for close to seven years now, I think. However, recently I've been noticing some vibrations in the M60s at certain freqs and thought the issue was coming from drivers that had loosened up. I tried everything to get rid of the vibrations, tightening the drivers, using thin foam between them and the cabinet, but nothing worked. So, since I loved the Axioms for all these years, I decided to stick with them and hopefully the new setup with last 10 years this time. smile

I'm really excited about the new VP160 center. We do occasionally have problems with hearing dialog in movies and TV shows. Most times I attribute it to pour mixing and production quality in the source, but I'm hoping this new center will help clean that up some.

Welcome and congrats on the upgrades! The VP160 and VP180 centers are light years ahead of the VP150 (which I had for many years before getting the VP180). You will LOVE the VP160!

Hang out here more and become a part of this crazy bunch. :-)

Excellent... that's great to hear about the 160. I got the inverted cabinet as it's going to sit below my screen pretty far. You can see pics of my 'theater' and my existing Axioms here: http://steve-mann.com/theater.html

I'm looking forward to hangin' out here and see what I can learn. smile

Where did you get your theater seats?

I'm looking forward to your thoughts on the upgrade. I've got the M60tis and VP150 and also plan on upgrading. However, I'm going for the M80s.

I got those locally off of Craig's List. They were doing away with their theater and I was lucky enough to be able to grab a section of them for pretty cheap.

I'll be sure to post my thoughts after getting them and listening for a day or two. It's going to be about 10 days before they ship.

I like your theater. So many things remind me of my theaters over the years. I too have a big SVS sub like yours (now with an acoustically identical DIY sub to match). I used to have the same Dobly and DTS signs that you do. I also had theater seats with V1.0 of my theater that came from a movie theater that shut down right after they recovered the fabric, so they were decent for what they were. Now we both have M60s, and I still have my VP150 sitting in a closet. I've had my VP150 both above and below my screen (above in V2.0 and below in V3.0) so on and so forth.

Good stuff all around.

Thanks! Sounds like we do have similar tastes. It's been a great hobby over the years for sure.

I just looked up my emails from my first Axiom purchase. I bought my M60s, 150 center and QS4s way back in January of 2003. Over ten years ago. I would have never guessed it was so long. Time flies when you're having fun (and spending money) I guess. smile

Alright! Speakers shipped yesterday. Should see them on Monday. Can't wait to get 'em setup and test 'em out. Too bad they couldn't have made it tomorrow so I would have had all weekend to 'play'.
