I am looking for some advice regarding my HT setup.

I currently have a 3 channel configuration: Axiom M22ti (L/R), PSB Image 8c (center), and PSB SubSonic 5i (sub). My receiver is a Yamaha RX-V540 (80W x 6).

I am satisfied with the sound during both music and movie playback, however, I feel there should be more warmth or robustness.

Would an amplifier help in this instance? If so, any recommendations....?

Since the room has a lot to do with the overall sound of your system, can you describe it for us? How big is it? How many exposed hard (sonically reflective) surfaces are there (e.g. walls, windows, floors)? If it's a relatively spartan and bare room, I'd try softening it up a bit before buying a new amp.

Its an open-ended room, approximately 20' x 15'. Carpeted floors, and 8' popcorn finish ceiling. One window.

From your description, your room doens't sound too reflective, so we can rule that factor out. Have you tried repositioning the M22s? Moving them wider apart or further from the wall?

Also, when you say robust, what do you mean?

After main speakers, the single biggest sonic improvement you can give your system is getting a new subwoofer.

go here: www.hsuresearch.com

MANY board members here have their products, and we've all be stunned at how good they are. I personally have the VTF-2. It's amazing.

A GOOD sub will make much more difference than an amp. (IMHO)

Bigrocks,

I second Craig's comment on the subwoofer.

By the way, what is your assessment of the sound quality on 2-channel materials, with and without the PSB center speaker engaged?
