Does Axiom offer either a ceiling or wall mount/bracket for the VP 180? I'm having trouble finding a large enough stand for the VP 180 and due to a young child who likes to climb, the speaker stands won't be a good fit. So, I'm looking to mount above the TV.

I don't think that I would trust any sort of bracket. The VP180 is massive. I wouldn't want to mount one of my M60s on a bracket or two, let alone my much larger VP180.

I understand your dilemma, and this probably won't help, but I had to make my own stand. Granted mine is hidden behind my screen wall, but that was the only thing that I could do for my need.

Your other option would be some sort of shelf brackets that mount to your wall above the TV. Something that you would buy at a home improvement store that is physically big enough to support the depth of the VP180. Be sure to mount things into studs and don't cheap out on screws, or better yet, predrill and use lag bolts. Any other brackets for extra support should be secured with good size toggle bolts through the drywall, but again, the bulk support should be directly into studs.

What TV are you using and how far off the wall is it to the front of the screen?

My suggestion would be to go to a hardware store and get some L shaped shelf brackets. Use a stud finder (not your wife) to locate the studs in the wall and screw the brackets directly into them and top it with a appropriately sized piece of plywood.

How much space would you guys recommend having between the back of the VP180 and the wall?

Charles, I believe the general rule of thumb is that the distance should be no less than the diameter of the port. I'd still go a little more if possible, maybe 2-3 times dia.

Would an On-wall VP180 work for your needs? We do have On-wall versions of the M60, M80, VP180, and VP160 available they will be on the site later this month.

Holy cow, now that's a teaser! As much as I have loved my M22OW and VP150OW... having a M80OW and VP180OW would be mind blowing!

Wow, thanks for the suggestions here...

The tv is an 82" samsung, I will be mounting it within the next few days. It is about 2.5" deep.

Being that the VP180 has that 17" depth, I'm afraid it might look odd above the screen, so was thinking below the screen, perhaps with a homemade L bracket as some suggested. TV cabinets below the screen aren't an option since the size of the VP180, combined with the need to keep the screen mounted low enough for comfortable viewing angle.

Ian, you must have ESP with this VP180 on wall!!! This would fit my needs perfectly...

The VP180 On-wall is HWD 11 x 39 x 4 inches (The M80 On-wall is HWD 39 X 11 X 4 inches). This depth should work pretty well with your new TV. It mounts using the same power bracket as our other On-wall models.
