anyone else notice all the refurbs available? if this is a new model(s), why so many? makes me wonder.

I'm guessing that most companies have lots of refurbs. It's just that the Denon refurbs are much easier to find. (With numerous authorized sellers online) What do other companies do with all their refurb product?

All companies have refurbs, some just do not make them as widely available. H/K has a ton, too.

Is this about the 2900 for $549?

If so, its never really available at any of the sites, it is almost always out of stock. If this is for the 2200 somewhere that I do not know about, could someone please shed some light on this?

What new Denon dvd playera are we talking about?

There are numerous Denon DVD players available as refurbs all the time. I don't think any one particular one was being singled out.

I've got a guy on the inside who may be able to get me one of the 2900 refurbs. (Though I may wait for the 5900 refurbs)
