I'd like to incorporate my AX3's into my home theatre system. I'm considering the following items (VP100, QS4, & EP125). Would these selections work well with the AX3's.

I have a set that have been incorporated in many systems. I am a tweaker, with different systems at different audiophile levels.
How long have you had them? Have you had any issues?

It's probably been around 10 years. I purchased them along with a Onkyo TX-84 amp and have been happy ever since.

I've never had any issues.

I haven't been able to use them for two years do to space constants, but I've just started construction on a home theatre room and I'm hoping they'll work.

Also, what do they mean by magnetically shielded, will this be an issue for me (obviously, I'm not technical)

Sounds good. I have used mine constantly for 10+ years. I had the surrounds of the drivers disintegrate. Fortunately they have a lifetime warranty. So I called Axiom, shipped them the old drivers, and they sent new ones. My only concern was they were not an exact for for the cabinet. Some very minor woodwork solved this.

Magnetically shielded means that placing the speakers near a device that can be affected by magnetism, will not alter the device. Speakers are composed of magnets(among other things), and placing them near a TV, or computer monitor causes picture problems. Try it for fun, but do not subject your tv to this for long. Anyway, they shield the speakers to control the magnetic lines of flux from affecting the TV. Typically people place HT fronts speakers next the TV. Without shileding, TV takes on a very wierd look....even more wierd than usual. ;)

So the AX3's shouldn't cause this TV distortion?

You asked about issues - this probably isn't anything, it just bugs me. I keep finding fiberglass particles on the inside of the speakers screen. This only happens with one of the speakers.

My AX3's are not shielded. Are yours the regular or Reference Models?
I know this because I have had them apart for driver changes. I have also noticed that the fiberglass insulation you mention does tend to come out of the port. Simply push it to the side using a ruler or something.

I took them apart to try to see an upgrade path. I absolutely HATE the guillotines for the speaker cables. I wanted to replace them with proper binding posts. I must say that Axiom secured the current posts, with about 5 oz of construction adhesive!!! So, I have put that project to the side. I will probably just drill new holes and leave the old ones unconnected. I was less than enthused with the quality of the internal wiring, and GASP....push/crimp on connectors in some of the drivers. However, I must remind myself these speakers are designed to make a price point in the target market, and changing these would have affected this. They do SOUND nice....the main important point. But I believe a design "flaw" is like a cockroach....you never see just one.

Gee this sounds like I am slagging them, When I actually enjoy them!

I have an original brochure of the AX line. Let me check if they mention the AX3 being shielded.

Nope, it does not mention AX3 being shielded. The AX Sub mentions this, but the AX 1 accompanying the AX Sub in the package does not.

My suspicion would be that the AX3 Reference was not shielded either.

These models will be a great compliment for your AX3s. The selection of the sub woofer should really be based around your room size and power. Under 100 watts per channel in a small to medium sized room will work well for the EP125.

For music listening - no. If you plan to use them in an HT setup, and have them close to the monitor - yes.
If you plan to use them in an HT setup, and have them far from the monitor - no.

Shielding is an effort to contain the magentic lines of the speaker magnets from interferring with the monitor picture.
