i am not hearing enough bass coming out of my m60. on my m22s there was little bass, but that was a bookshelf, not a floorstander. I also got a sub (svs 25-31 pci) that i assumed was broken because the amount of bass coming out of the sub was minimal, less then decent car stereo bass. Right now my m60s are putting out the same amount of bass. in order to get real, noticeable bass i need to crank the bass adjustment on my reciever to the max.
is this the m60? does it need to break in more? or is it possibly the reciever (hk 525)
also, would it help if i connected to speaker wire to the bottom binding posts instead of the top?

i am supposed to leave the gold bridge on right? do you suggest cleaning the bridge?
hopefully it just needs to break in. right now it doesnt seem like it is significantly better then the m22 in bass output

There is almost never any such thing as decent car stereo bass, IMnotatallHO. If you want a thumper, I'm afraid you've purchased the wrong speakers. Give it a little time, and you'll learn how nice CLEAN bass is. I think your subwoofer probably was defective (you can turn almost any good sub into a thumper if you turn it up too high, but it sounds like yours was barely working at all). Remember, the bass should not be a distinct, separate part of the music (like with badly adjusted, cheap computer systems-no, I'm not necessarily referring to yours), but should simply be a part of the music. Do leave the bridge on (you won't have tweeters or woofers if you don't, depending on where the cables are) and it doesn't matter which posts you put the cable in.

Okay, Hawk, now that you've got the wire correctly attached, as described in your other post, you have to be sure that the binding strap is clamped tightly. Otherwise, as Ken mentioned, if you have the wire on the top terminal(which feeds the mids and tweeters)and the strap isn't firmly connecting it to the lower terminal(which feeds the woofers)you will get almost no bass. Also, you won't get(and shouldn't want)overwhelming, boomy bass.

i connected the recut the wires (its possible i took to much off with the wire cutters the first time), connected the wire to the bottom binding post, let the speaker play heavy bass for about 2 hours, and tightened up the top binding post.
it made a huge difference
