I have ordered the M22ti's today and should be receiving them tomorrow. I currently am running with the VP150, QS4's and an SVS 20-39pci. My question is what would you consider a good distance between the M22's. My room is roughly 16' x 20' with an 8' ceiling. The seating postion is roughly 10' away from the mains.
Jason, the usual suggestion is to separate the speakers by about as much as your seating distance and to toe them in slightly so that the tweeters point at your ears.

I found the Dolby formula useful where the angle, from the seated position, to the speakers should be 45deg for HT & 60deg for Music. For a seated position 10' away from the TV or reference point in the middle of the speakers, the speakers would be 99.4" apart for HT and 138.5" apart for Music. With the speakers the same distance apart as the seated position is from the TV, the angle is approx. 53deg, right in the middle of the suggested points.
Apparently the 60deg angle for Music is supposed to open up the soundstage a bit. I've found that the 45deg for my M22's gives a huge stage.

Are you sure they shouldn't be 99.375" apart and not 99.4"?
Actually in terms of inches it's much easier to deal with 3/8 than 2/5...rulers being as they are and such.
I'm glad somebody studied their decimal to fraction conversions.
Please forgive the decimals! I wasn't really awake yet! I guess to simplify, the easiest formula I could come up with was:
a = b*SinA/SinB
a = Distance from Center of TV (Reference Point)to Center of Speaker
A = Angle for Speaker Placement divided by two (22.5deg - HT, 30deg - Music)
b = Distance from Seated position to TV (Reference Point)
B = Angle opposite b (67.5deg - HT, 60deg - Music)

IMHO the speakers should be 3/4 (x)
x = distance from the tv
so if you're sitting 10' away, the speakers will be 7.5' apart from each other
None of these "rules" should be followed exactly. The characteristics of your room affect how your speakers will sound just as much as the distance they are from each other and from your ears.
Sidewall, ceiling, and hard furniture reflections will add to the total sound reaching your ears, so you may find that your speakers sound better closer together, further apart, or toed in.

I find that separating the speakers by a bit more than half the seating distance works best. In your case, I'd try about 6 to 8 feet of separation.
As pmb points out, lots of factors influence this, but the M22s are extremely versatile and accommodating, moreso than floorstanding speakers in terms of ease of setup.
