Just ordered my Axiom's today (M60ti's, QS8's, EP350, VP150 and VP100) and I'm extremely excited about the purchase. However, I am left pondering one decision that I did not make. My receiver which is a Yamaha RX-Z1, which can utilize effect speakers for their DSP's. I was debating the purchase of a couple of M2i's for this purpose but put off the purchase (maybe a little overkill). I know that I will be extremely pleased with my 6.1 setup but pose this question to the masses if anyone is utilizing the effects speakers with their Yamaha's could give me a little feedback.

I purchased a VP100 for my rear center, I noticed that not many people seem to recommend this approach but I only have about 8" of usable wall space to mount the speaker and I thought that the rear center was primarily used for dialog anyway that the VP100 would be perfect. Anybody else using a VP100 or VP150 for their rear center?

I once was considering using a smaller center channel speaker as my rear surround, but was dissuaded by the manufacturer (not Axiom). I never did get a good explanation as to why he felt I shouldn't use a center in the rear. I'll be very curious to hear how the VP100 works in that position. Please let us know what you think.

The tech support from Axiom recommened another QS8 which might have done well for me except for the small difference in height. A lot of people like to use two M2i,'s or M3i's for a 7.1 setup but the RX-Z1 only support one speaker for the rear center but it does the front effect speakers which I have heard good things about.
