Looking for about 250' of 12 gauge, 2 conductor speaker wire to rewire the whole system with. All my local suppliers only carry up to 14 gauge so I'll have to order online. Nothing fancy required here.

Parts Express has some Speaker King cable for about $.036 per foot, but it is only available in 50', 100' and 500' rolls:

Anyone know of a better deal?

I need the follwing runs, so 50' rolls are useless, but I could maybe do it from 2x100' + 1x50':

15' x 2
16' x 1
42' x 2
59' x 2
Total : 248

Thanks,

David

Did your list of local suppliers include Home Depot, Lowe's or a similar home improvement store? They will have it available in bulk rolls and will cut to length for you.

yea home depot will have

besides, it's always nice to have extra, i'd order 3 x 100 if you go with parts express. NEVER cut cables to exact length is one thing life and work has taught me... NEVER

i agree with the last 2 posts.. i was just at my local home depot this past weekend, and they had bulk wire, from 28 to 12 gauge, sold by the foot.. the 12 gauge was .30 cents a foot, and you could cut it to what ever lenght you need..

speaking of speaker wire.. has anyone seen this new commercial for a wire crimper/stripper for $19.95?? the thing looks pretty nifty, and easy.. but then, do you really think they would make it look hard?? duh.. anyway, just not looking forward to sharpening the 'old timer' and cutting up my thumb-pads..

Yeah. looks like a knock off of a thing i saw at Parts express. i think the parts express one was 30 or 50 bucks compared to 20 for two POS ones. Looks nice but of course, alot of stuff does on tv. Id go with the real thing myself..

David, although Parts Express has something like this , as other replies stated, your Wichita Home Depot should have what you want.

Try searching Parts Express for 100-740 if you're looking for a 2 wire 12Ga in-wall solution. I just picked up 100' of this stuff for my surrounds for about $20.

The 12 gauge in-wall from Parts Express is nice. I ran all of my surrounds with it. The Daytona cables are real nice for the main speakers. All my cables are the Daytona, nicest one I could find for the money.

Lowes in my area has a 250ft roll of 12ga for 67 bux

I ended up ordering some 250ft spool online for 43 bux

Buy.com is actually selling that spool as well, but they are out of stock

I did go to Home Depot last night and buy 130 feet just to wire my rear surrounds, but it was $0.54 a foot.

I just called Lowes and they have it for $0.36 a foot. Guess where I'm going now.

$0.54 sounds WAY too expensive. I'm guessing somebody read the pricing wrong. I'd be surprised if it was much over $0.30.

Nope, I saw it on their screen when he looked it up. I did go to Lowes last night. Their cable was 36c per foot, or 25c a foot if you buy the 250 foot roll.

I must say that the cable from Home Depot has a much better casing on it though.

I just replaced all of my cabling from the 250' 12 gauge roll that I bought from Home Depot for $67.00. The quality of the cable seems very good, splices well and worked great with the banana plugs that I bought.
