I have a pair of QS4s on home audition. So far they seem pretty good. I understand from this formum that there is little if any difference between the QS4 and 8s, the main factor being size of room. My room is 17 x 13 x 8. Anyone with experience with both of these surrounds? Which did you prefer and why? Is it sonically worthwhile to upgrade to the QS 8s in my situation? Compare performance with SACD/DVD-A? Thanks.

Does anyone on this forum compare these speakers?

I've not heard both.

Things get quiet around here on the weekends. I'm sure more people will chime in later.

Greetings,
I have owned both versions, and wound up keeping the QS8's. At the time, the QS4's were using a hybrid driver, but that has since changed so that now they both use the same type of drivers. The difference between the two comes down to how loud you want them to play, and that is a factor of room size, amplification, etc. Axiom would be your best bet in helping you choose based on your particular variables.

Thank you for your response. What were the deciding factors for you in going with the QS 8s?

shadow4,
my room size is identical to yours and i got 2 qs4s. the qs4s now use the same driver in the tweeter that the vp150 uses, thus negating one of the few downsides to the qs4. the way it was explained to me, the 4 and 8s will sound pretty much the same, except the 8's will fill a bigger room. the 8's will certainly sound great in your room, but then again you could use the $150 saving to get a universal remote or whatever.
