Hello all,
Please let me know if this setup is sound:

Front L/R: M22ti
Center: VP150
Rear surround L/R: M2
Side surround L/R: QS4
Subwoofer: HSU STF-2

All this, plus a Toshiba 51" RPTV HD compatible and a Denon 3805 to drive the speakers, will go into a "dedicated" HT room that is 19'L x 14'W x 9'H, enclosed on all four sides. Will the above speakers do me just fine? Or should I try another setup? I do like my rear surrounds to be more directional thus I chose the M2s instead of another set of QS4s. Thanks much for your advice and time.

Peter, that setup would provide excellent sound. As I often do, I'll suggest that a vertical M2 be considered for the center speaker rather than any horizontal configuration. Also, if you'd care to go with tower speakers, you have enough room for M60s, although there's no necessity to do so.

Hi JohnK, thanks much for the advice! A M2 would definitely save me some money over the VP150, but will there be any voids in sound stage up front by placing the M2 there, vertically?

Sounds pretty much perfect. JohnK's suggestions are also dead on.

More than one person has suggested that the horizontal array of most centers causes suck-out problems off-axis. It seems like a pretty minor deal to me.
OTOH, one little M2 on top of the TV is bound to look funny, don't you think?
And, though I haven't tried it, I'm guessing one M2 would really call attention to itself - pinpointing the location of the sound source.
But don't take my word on it - I haven't tried a vertical center (although I was very tempted when I had 3 M60s on hand!).

Hello all, thanks for all the advice...
While a single M2 would look a bit funny on top of the TV, it would probably look okay if it was on a stand below a screen. (Sorry, just trying to justify changing to a front projection :-) ).
I am putting M2s in the rear surround precisely because it will call attention to itself to pinpoint the sound source, though I will have to try it out as a center to hear how it sounds with my M22s.

To expand on John's input, when I was speaking with Axiom prior to my purchase, they told me that the M60s would assist the center by helping to create a fuller "false front" to enhance that soundstage. If you go with the M2, the M60's should provide some benefit and help the M2 a bit.
