Alrights kids, many people have asked me for pictures... now I need to take a few more of the subwoofer in place, but there's some to hold you over, any and all questions/comments are welcome!

View from the doorway:

From the Couch:

Equipment (Denon AVR-3805, PS2, temp DVD player and temp stand):

QS8's up on the ceiling:

Computer next to HT stuffs (isn't it pretty?):

Now these subwoofer shots are just of the thing sitting in part of it's packaging, but they're nice to look at either way, more pics to follow. NOTE the CD lying against if for a size comparison

SVS PB2-Plus:

SVS PB2-Plus Side View:

Now I noticed the room pictures have a bit of a orange glow, that's the warmth of the lights in the room I suppose.

If you'd like more specific pictures of certain things or angles, just ask, and feel free to post pictures too if you like

Very Nice...That sub is huge! Where are you thinking abotu putting it? Maybe next to the couch as a "rumbly" side table?
nice man.. good to see you finally got it all squared away.. ceiling looks much better with the tiles up.

i tell you what.. if you are in the basement, that sub is gonna feel like an earthquake on the floor above.. that sub is huge.. thats the first close upo shots of the PB-2 i have seen. WOW, i am impressed. thats is a WHOLE lot of system for such a small space.. i would be scared to turn that volume knob!!!

great pics.. maybe later, you can give us a richter scale reading??

bigjohn
*grins* thats exactly where it is, the bed is just moved out a bit*

Yeah it's a lot of fun, and I'm probably one of the few who can say "yeah this is my bedroom"

It's actually 20 x 14 room...but as you said the space is smaller... but see all the time I was researching and asking for suggestions, I'd say total room size....so.......yeah

the sub uncalibrated is pain inducing.....I'm still tweaking it, the gain is at like 55-60% and I don't think it should be, maybe it's too low on the receiver...

Actually, you are the ONLY person that can say that - it being YOUR bedroom and all.

I don't think your room looks to small. While my living opens up into a much large space, the room itself is only about 18 X 12. I find that I've got plenty of space to let the goodies breathe. (Though there still is a tendancy to turn it up a little too loud - because it appears to sound better that way - which creates some conflict with the wife).

The ceiling does look great, too, by the way. Good job!
Yeah that ceiling is 50% sound insulating "Sonaflex" tile, they're about 1/2" thick I think.

Parents wanted something to shut me up a bit

Is it just me, or does it look like you can see the wall through those gorilla ports on the M60s? Did somebody leave the back door open on those things?
You can see through them indeed, most just don't notice it because it's dark behind the speaker, where's as I have a light on the wall near it shining through at the time of photo taking :\

- D
I noticed that too. It's kind of surprising that they're not offset. It just doesn't seem right to be able to see right through a speaker.

Obviously "C" Stock
o.O

For one the charcoal smoke is a custom finish. Two, these are brand new custom ordered, A stock, thank you very much!

~Whoosh~!
Nice setup! I like the charcoal.
Hmmm. I'm surprised those ports line up on the front and back. My M60s are set up like the ones pictured on the website. The front port is mounted low, and the back ports are at the top and about mid-way down. I wonder if the design has changed at some point.
Maybe having the ports parallel to each other makes them more "transparent"?

Seriously though, that is an insane amount of firepower in that size room. Like hunting rabbits with a .375 H&H Magnum (did I get that right bigjohn? it's been a while).
I had two friends over last night, we watched the lobby scene from matrix, and the opening 10 minutes of Fellowship of the Ring in DD...

The Guy: Wow.....I'm impressed. Impressed enough to shake your hand sir!

The Girl: ooooooh it's better then I movie theater *big grin* I like surround sound *giggles*

Positive reactions all around.... and LOTR was.....ok it shakes the entire house easy, I LOVE IT

Downside, my computer is to close to the speakers, so it vibrates, I need to move it to the other side of the desk once the floor is fixed...

no $hit, right??

bigwill- yes, the .375 Holland & Holland leaves one hell of an exit wound. i have never personally shot a rifle with a .375 load, but those that have them, swear by them. although, it seems overkill to me.. my deers drop with a .270 just as easy.

daphoid- unless the chick started takin her clothes off after she giggles, then she wasnt THAT impressed

A couple of bass shakers might accomplish this
evidently
The ports don't go straight through, and there hasn't been any change in the design (as far as I know). The front port on mine appears to have a fine sheet or cloth at the end of the port. This may just appears bluish in the pictures because of the walls. In any event - you can't see through my M60s.
Actualy, I believe is it acoustic foam...

I am at work but I remember looking in the ports with a flashlight and it is foam.

Camera flashes can play tricks on your eyes...most throw blue and so the "appearance" of a see through M60 in Daphiod's image.

WhatFurrer
i would agree with furrer and the capn.. i looked at my M60's this morning as i was passing by, and the bottom port in the back of the speaker is approx. 6-8 inches higher that the bottom port in the front..

there most definitely IS NOT a hole straight thru from front to back. i concur with the foam and flash theories..

bigjohn
WhatFurrer is correct, I do recall having a look-see and it was a white foam behind the port.
