I want to upgrade my loudspeaker recently. Aperion Powered Tower and Axiom M60,M80 are on my checking list. All of them have very good reviews. But is there anyone listened all of them and can share his experience? I appreciate it.
thanks a lot!
i have heard the M60's, cause that what i have. dont know much about the others mentioned, but i sure like mine.

good luck in your decision.. but for a direct price-vs-performance comparison, i dont think you can find a better deal than the axioms!!

hell, to be honest, i think the axioms can compete with speakers that are 2 and 3 times more expensive.

I haven't heard Axioms yet (a few weeks to go til I get them) but I have a buddy with an Aperion Intimus 5.1 system. They're very nice aesthetically. Beautiful fit and finish and very sollid. I haven't done any serious listening to them yet. Once I get my M60s I'm going to do a comparison of the two. Somebody else asked about Aperion vs. Axiom about month or so ago too. You could try searching the forum to find that thread. Both companies offer a 30 day return policy so you could order both, try them out and keep the one you like best. One thing to note, the Intimus Power towers have the powered subwoofer but it only goes down to 30Hz. If you'll get into serious HT or listen to music with deep bass you'll still want to get a sub to hit 20Hz or 25Hz. If you're willing to wait a bit I'll get my comparison posted - although it'll be with the Intimus 5.1, not the towers. The sound should be very similar, though.

I have M60 too and i love it. If i need another pair of tower speaker, which i will soon, i certainly go for M60 again. It's good and affordable price...
I have heard the Aperion 522d which is part of the Intimus system and the M60......totally different speakers...small bookshelf vs a medium tower.

The Power Tower is basicly a 522d on top of a bass module.

I have compared the 522d to the M22....and IMO, the M22 is better in most if not all aspects outside of fit and finish.
Anectodal (i.e. talking out my a$$) - I recall reading credible comparisons that the Aperion bookshelf speakers presented a somewhat more laid-back sonic signature than the Axioms. You may very well find that sound preferable. Only your ears can decide.

As for me, I love the M60's. They are consistently exciting and rewarding to experience. I have no remorse whatsoever.

The earlier comments about sub proficiency are worth repeating; not all subs are created equal. Likewise, a true three-way speaker (like the M60) PLUS a a good sub will give you more placement options and likely higher performance than a pair of two-ways sitting on top of sub modules.
curtis,

I'd appreciate any more detail you could provide on M22 vs 522D. To me that seems a very appropriate and important comparison. I have seriously considered Aperion because they look so good, but ultimately rejected them because there arn't enough comparison experiences available on the web.
"Anectodal (i.e. talking out my a$$)"

LOL, I like that definition of anecdotal.
Larry,

The differences in the M22 and 522d can really be summed up using the larger speaker vs smaller speaker generalizations.

The 522d, IMO, sounded thiner in the mids, smaller, and not as clean overall. That is not saying the 522d is a bad speaker, but to my ears, they did not sound as full or refined as the M22.
