MP3s DVDs Regular CDs

all sound sweet (credit the AXIOMS)

I have a cheapy pioneer $90 player from Wally World...sounds and video is great.

So what does a $500 player provide?

I've always wondered...yes we all know $$$ typically means quality

that said, the Axioms are an investment but not crazy

a $1000 reciever should be a lot better than a $100 reciever-- But I hate to ask the question, are we getting better for $ obviously we know we are..but a DVD/cd player from Wally world?

I guess the answer is if it sounds/views good to us it is fine...but seriously I am getting a $1000 reciever next--lol

the other side ight be the TV or the speakers I use perform so good they let shabby eqt shine? but then that would reveal flaws too.

strange

No, Dave, $$$ doesn't necessarily or even typically mean quality. There's very little correlation in audio between price and sound quality. Get the features that you want at the best price that you can find.

add to that you could spend $$$ on a sweet set up and it break the next day...that would SUCK

and the cheapys...well...I do notice tendancies as far as longevity...1-3 years but thats also a roll of the dice.

I hear you on features...at X level they all better be pretty darn good, but I see what you mean that features seem to be the major ditiungishing concept...and this new spec is .000019 better than last year...hahaha
