After much thought and anxiety as to the M80's or M60's have decided on the M80's. So now I've decided to move my Onkyo 797 to the den. I was going to use it in the new HT set up but am leery of its ability to drive the M80's with impunity. From my head hurting research, the NAD T773 receiver seems to be the receiver that will not wilt driving the M80's. Anyone out there with some personal knowledge/experience with NAD and the T773's in-particular?

Here is another link for the NAD.I couldn't get through on the one you provided.

Please disregard the URL in the post . It is a whoops! The T773 is supposed to have no problamo's driving 4 ohm speakers...according to their site. But I have yet to find a price point on the unit or any reviews of same. I know they have a long standing good rep. for building qauility rigs but before I buy I would like some first hand Knowledge from a user. The closest dealer is located about 90 miles from me. Not that far it seems but it is through some of the worst traffic in the world! And I have a near terminal case of road rage so woiuld rather not make that drive.

Heckl, according to NAD's site, it can drive a 2 ohm load. If that is true, then the M80s will be an easy load. I'd say you found yourself the right beast for the job.

There are probably cheaper alternatives, though.

I'm not sure about the T773, but I have a T762 and I have NO doubts that it would easily drive M80's. I have M22's though. Unfortunately, I live in an apartment so I haven't found out how far the T762 will really go, but I know that it's well beyond levels that I'd actually listen to. I'm sure that the T773 would be great with the M80's. If you decide to go with the T773, you might want to try http://www.saturdayaudio.com/ and see what their price is. They made me a really good deal on my T762 and they ARE an authorized NAD dealer. Good service and great prices. Hope this helps and enjoy whatever you choose.

Just throwing in another positive comment for NAD. I have a T752, and it sounds great with my M60s and VP150. The build quality is awesome, too.

Thats what I was hoping to hear, I found you can run in circles looking at all the different receivers out there and got to pull the trigger on one and go for it. looks like NAD in some sort of flavor is it. Now will see what the price point is on those flavors.
Thanks!

I have found a dealer about an hour away that carries the T773 and is listed as an authorized dealer. They have a price of $1500 on it which is right in my ballpark. After starting the new plans for my new HT setup months ago it is all finally falling in place now only waiting to see the new Mts DLP vs Samsung's latest.

$1500? For that price I would go with a Denon 2803 and Outlaw monoblocks. That I guarantee will have no problems pushing the M80's.

I thought Outlaw was coming out with a new reciever?
