I just picked up a new Denon DVD1910 this weekend along with a Denon AVR2805 receiver at a local shop. Salesman cut me a great deal at about 20% off retail. Have both hooked up to my Sammy 61" DLP and Axioms. While at the store, the salesman stated that he ordered a new product that he would have in a couple weeks. He described it as some sort of spray that you apply to all your terminal points (audio and video). He stated it will significantly improve sound and picture quality. I was kind of skeptical. He told me to come back in a couple weeks and he would have a complete system set up using the product and one without for a comparison.

My quesion is this. Has anyone heard of this or a similar product? Like I said, I am skeptical. It costs $74 per can.

I just throw my stuff on the top of my car when I'm going to a car wash, kills two birds with one stone.

I would steer away too. It sounds like snake oil.
I also think your first intuition was right .

It is too bad the price is not $1000 per can. Then we REALLY could have saved some money for not buying it...

That's excatly what I thought. The salesman was very good though, so I thought maybe he was not trying to scam me. Like I said he made a good deal on the equipment I bought and I did not have to fight too hard.

Thanks for the input.

Maybe it has viagra in the ingredients, that way you can get longer runs with 16-18 AWG wire just like 12 AWG.

perhaps he was just trying to promote some WD40, he is going to show you how to use that magical spray stuff to degrease those nasty gunk off of his 15+ years old speaker/RCA cables that he'd found in his dad's basement, thus improving the audio/video quality of his setup dramatically, uhmm...yep.

No doubt. I think I'm in the wrong line of work. Maybe I should come out with some B.S. product to screw the unsuspecting. Cable stands would be good, wait that’s been done. How about Boulder Colorado earth crystals? They scare away HT gremlins , yeah that’s it.

Hmmm. Probably a completely legitimate product. Of course, if you just buy anti-oxidant grease at an auto parts store, it's a couple bucks. A few more at radio shack. But as an audiophile, you don't want to be seen in either of those places...

Caig ProGold. Great stuff! I use it before making any audio electrical connection. Do not use it on optical cables.

Yep. Works wonders with DeOxit also to breathe life into older stereo tuner / receivers...brought an old Sanyo I had back to life as well as a Nikko that a neighbor has...

I use it on my connections and connectors as well.
