Last night was the big night... I ordered my speakers and receiver.

Here is what I ordered...
M60Ti fronts
VP150 center
QS8 surrounds
SVS 20-39PCi sub
Pioneer VSX-54TX THX receiver

My wife said to me last night "Merry Christmas... And Happy Birthday... And maybe Merry Christmas again..." meaning that I shouldn't plan on getting any presents from anyone for a while as they will just be asked to give cash to pay the bill for this stuff...

I am so excited, but I went with the factory outlet stuff in Cherry, so my sub and receiver should show up first, followed in a couple of weeks by the fronts and center, and then a couple of MONTHS later, I should see the QS8 rears show up.

Anyway, I feel like a member of the club, or something, now...

You should check with Axiom to be sure, but it is my understanding that they will ship all your speakers together based on the LONGEST wait time stated at time of purchase, which, for you, appears to be the wait time for your QS8s. Perhaps this has changed since I ordered, or perhaps you've come to a different understanding with Axiom. But, you should check to be sure. Hope I'm wrong.

Regardless, welcome to the family. And, no matter how long, or short, the wait is, it's gonna be agony. Be brave.

Yes, I think that's the case, but check with Axiom. I think the idea of the discount is that everything ships together!

FWIW, if it's only the surrounds that would hold everything up for that long, you may just want to pay for the "A" stock surrounds... they're only $47 more.

I almost did that just to knock two weeks off the time of my order. Amie says "first week of November" which is a little ahead of the shipping date I had assumed, but I'm STILL like a kid at Christmas.

So, yeah, the wait IS agony. I keep telling myself that I should stop frequenting these boards, but to me, it's like speaker-porn and I can't stop!

It's all gonna be worth it. Now, if I can just keep my mind on my work!

i remember that feeling whan i placed my order.. the endorfins are kicking..

the wait time can be a struggle, but it will pass.. make sure and give yourself a full weekend when they get it to set-up and tweak.. you will want to listen to every cd you have. make sure to send pics once its all up!!

Im just curious, where did you get your Pioneer 54TX from???
Posted By: Capn_Pickard Re: WooHoo! I did it!!! - 10/20/04 02:05 PM
These days, you have the choice to have the outlet stuff shipped as each piece becomes ready, or all at once.
Posted By: MarkSJohnson Re: WooHoo! I did it!!! - 10/20/04 02:32 PM
Actually, that makes me think that I need to clarify part of my post:

I think the issue is NOT whether or not you're buying from the outlet, I think the issue is whether or not you're planning on the 5% multi-item discount. I think THAT's dependant upon the items all being shipped at the same time.

Again, check with Axiom!

Again - I think if you pay for it all at the same time, you'll get your discount, even if they're shipped seperately...but I've been known to talk out of my @$$ before. Maybe someone from Axiom will chime in an clear it up.

I looked around for a retailer online with a great price and great reviews (of the store, not the product), and ended up with The Best Price Store (www.thebestpricestore.com). It cost me $681.50 shipped to my door for the brand new receiver... They weren't the absolute cheapest place, but close, and I had seen where they had 72 reviews and had an average of 5 out of 5 stars, so I figured that they must be for real...

Axiom is great!!! Ok, so that isn't anything new.

I called tonight per people's advice here, and left a message. I was thinking, ya right... Like they will call me back anytime soon. Well, about 10 minutes later, the phone was ringing and it was Axiom calling back. They punched up my order and it already had a ship date of December 10. That is 6 weeks from now, and a good 6 weeks earlier than the QS8's were to be ready (remember, they have a 12 week wait from the factory outlet)... The guy from Axiom said that the M60ti's and the VP150 will be ready then, and that they don't like to make customers wait an extra 6 weeks for a couple of speakers. I don't know how they are going to get me some QS8's if the factory doesn't have them.... Maybe they will be a-stock?

Anyway, chalk this up as another great Axiom customer service victory. Of course, the next 6 weeks will be hard to take waiting for the speakers, but I saved $162 by getting factory speakers instead of a-stock, so I can use that $162 for something else... Like a gift for my wife! :-)

Excellent, Nick! The news is Good!

Hey Nick, congrats....
I got your email last night and replied to you...I think you will be very very happy with your purchase. I still get amazed every time I watch a movie or listen to music. My Factory Outlets came almost 2 wks early, I have heard this is very common, and the delivery date on the website is the date it will arrive at your door or if you decide to pick them up at Fed Ex as I did....

ps Nice to have an Axiom buddy in Des Moines

Well, the SVS 20-93PCi showed up today. WOW this thing is big. My wife isn't real happy with me right now, but I keep telling her to wait until we get the Axioms and the new receiver and it will be worth it.

20-93PCi... that's not 20 hz and 93 INCHES TALL is it ?

If you're still alive, your wife must still be pretty happy with you
