I took the plunge, after toooo many hours of research i purchased the SVS 20-39PC-Plus subwoofer.

Hopefully it will meet all my expectations and then some....

congrats, I just got my 2 last week. I don't think you will be disappointed at all. You may get divorced, cause it's the best looking water heater in my house. Seriously, I was taking some measurements, and using a 16" pizza tray to try to invision what it would look like before i got them. Well, it's bigger than I thought. It's a very dominent looking sub. albeit 9" shorter than the 16-46, it's a biggin. Glad to see you went the PLUS route. I wanted Ultra, but just a little too much coin for 2!
You ALSO have the M-60s, so heres a pic of of ^0s with the SVS 20-30 PC+

WOW! john your fireplace has dolby 5.1 output? lol
Congrads to both of you! Looks sweet Jon

Cheers, Mike
Yeah, I know, I have the corner TV application, just NO other place for it. Can't wait for the new house!!!!!!!
lol that thing makes the m60's look small...

hey i have the 50" sammy dlp also....good choice!

cant wait for it to get here, i live up by cleveland ohio and their factory is only about 1-1/2 hrs away in youngstown. shipping was like 15 bucks and 1 day service. gottal love that if a warranty need arises.

One question; one statement, Jon.

1) Whataya doin' with a fireplace in Florida? (Although it does look like you use it. Cool!)

2) You're my friend for life for watching the Ohio State game. (unless, of course, you were rooting for their opponent)

OOPS! One more. Is that the 50" Sammy? I've got the 43" HLN model, and love it.

OOPS! One more. Great job of mounting the center channel above the fireplace. Looks good.

I am in South Florida, basically west palm beach, and it's gonna be 35 degrees monday night, we get our cold snaps, I have already used it several times this year. It's an old 1924 house, and that is what they used to heat back then. I like it it adds some charm/chacter to this condo laidened area. Ohio state, well they cost me a bundle on the U of Miami national championship game. My best friend is from youngstown, all i here about is Ohio from him. I am thinking of buying a ONE WAY grey hound ticket for him. He was watching the "o-zone" on directv, one of the disadvanges to hundreds of channels and Axioms everywhere is that you get some unexpected knocks at the door! Although not perfectly placed (from an audio standpoint) the 150 center looks so cool on the full metal bracket. The angles are unlimited, I love the FMB design. In the new house I will get 4 more, 2 for side QS-8s, and 2 for the m-22s in the rear, 60s stay on the floor, I am going to do a custom built flush mount audio cabinet with access, cooling and wire chase in the back side closet of the spare bedroom. Oh I forgot, yes Sammy HLP5063, love it, a little big for present room, but PERFECT for the new one!
ignore the darn christmas stuff, thats my wifes idea....
notice the home theater pc above the x-box....

Enjoy it Genetic,
That is a monsterous sounding sub you have there as I have had the same one for a couple month's now. It should be capable of filling just about any living room I'll ever move into.
Also, those Samsung's are good looking tv's even when turned off!
yea i cant wait to get it, it should be here tuesday.

now if i could find a buyer for my infinity ps-12 sub....any takers? its only about 1 month old, it sells at circuitcity currently for $449.00. anyone want to make an offer???
Jeff,

Did you make or buy the mount for the center speaker to sit on top of the Sammy? If you bought the mount, could you please let me know where?

I have a Mit 52725 and would like to place the center in the same place.

Thanks

Del

Actually they are miter cut pieces of 2”x4”, I then used that plasticoat (black) dip from home depot and coated them so they would not slide.

The center also has 2 self adhesive rubber feet on the front so it won’t move. You can actually grab the speaker and wiggle the T.V. that is how solid it is.

The Mits drops off in the back a lot more than the Samsung. Its only about 2" wide at the top, then drops off at about 45 degrees.

I really didn’t want to mount the center on the wall, since its about 2 feet behind the TV, but I may not have a choice.

Del

wow that is steep, perhaps too steep to get a solid hold on it.

maybe you can fabricate a shelf that extends to the position you desire?
well it arrived today! even seeing the pictures beforehand it still seems huge.

i had a short while to play with it, i watched chapter 5 thur 7 of bad boys 2, and a bit of U-571. im interested in using the tuning plugs to tune it to 16hz then watch the same reference material again.

I was wondering your SVS impressions. I told you shes a biggin. (thats what we used to call the after midnight girls on a night out in the country bars) for what it's worth, I like (1) port blocked, switched to 16hz. It took some tweaking, and placement, but it's weel worth it.
Isn't that like...illegal or something? I know it's not suggested by the guys at SVS. How long have you been performing your sub @ 16Hz with just the one port blocked? Do you feel you notice a difference?
You can literly feel the difference on certain movies, those that play that low. You sacrifice a little headroom. I have never been told SVS does not reccomend it. It is discussed very routinely in the owners manuul. They do state that damange could occur if the hz. selector switch is not moved accoringingly. no ports switch at 20, 1 blocker at 16 2 blockers at 12.
i think he was goofing us , i think its mhz, not hz. i never get that right lol
You still didn't get it right. It's Hz. Humans can't hear in the MHz range. Thank goodness...
Congrats! Go out and get yourself the DTS-ES version of The Haunting GD if you really want to test your sub.
seems as though it will take some time & effort to get it set up to my liking, hopefully not too much time.
