I am wondering if anyone has used aftermarket speaker stands for their QS4's. I am looking for something more affordable right now. Thanks.

I'm using CD towers with a couple bricks on their sides on top of each to support my QS8s. I can't wall mount them (renting) and the CD towers are here anyway. The bricks are the sort with 10 holes (2 rows of 5) in them so I get dispersion in all horizontal directions from the downward driver which is suspended about 4 inches from the top of the CD case. Is 4 inches enough anybody? I thought this would work because I remember someone saying they had theirs propped up on books on bookcases. FWIW
