yes, i think you could get by with the VP100.. but if you think you will ever get hit with a case of "what ifs?", then just get the VP150, and be done with it!!

VP-100 would probably be fine... I'll admit I opted for the 150 because I figured the incremental cost of letting the 150 was fairly minimal, and if I ever move my HT to a bigger room, I'd be glad for having a capable speaker.
I think that the importance of the Center Channel (Dialog for movies and often singer on muti-channel audio discs) in combination with the fact that your room is not small.... I would rather err on the side of the Center having a little extra capability and would opt for the 150 if your budget can swing it!
I don't have a center yet, and not sure if I need one. Never had any problem with small dialogue. If I ever buy a center, that's only for music (dts/dvd-a/sacd). Just a personal preference - please don't pelt me
bonjour, Eric.
Mon VP100 est tres magnifique! (please pardon my poor French, and understand that it is offered in the spirit of friendship and welcome)
The VP100 is a very good speaker, and I think would work just fine in that room. My room is larger than yours and I am well satisfied (of course, I have not heard the VP150).
Also of concern to me is that the VP150 is a VERY large speaker. Placement and aesthetics could impact your choice.
Another reason that some people choose the VP150 is that it is perceived to provide a wider "sweet spot", so if you will be having Home Theatre where many people will be seated across a wide area of the room, it might be a good upgrade. If it will be mostly just you and one other special person sitting together, it may not make such a difference and the VP100 will be fine.
ty guys for your opinion , very helpful on my decision for the center channel.
Hi Eric
FWIW, when I upgraded from M22s to M60s I was worried that my VP100 would be overmatched. Even if such a concern has no real basis, that was my thinking (in a very loose sense of the word "thinking"). Anyway, I went with the VP150 and I have not regretted it. My room is a little smaller than yours.
I'm with you on this one Mark, the Center Channel is a very important piece of the whole HT experience. Based on the room size, I'd say go with the VP150 if you have the $$$$$. It is a great speaker.
