I have had the paradigm monitor 9's for about a year now and an considering adding dipolar speakers to my system. I have the denon 1602 as my receiver and no center...i would also consider adding a center soon. My question is who provides more for the money? paradigm or axiom?..how would adding the 150 axoim center and qs8 rears to my paradigm monitor 9's sound? will they match properly? or sohuld istick with paradigm? is the qs8 or the adp 370 a better speaker? is the cc370 or the 150 better? what to ylal recommend?
honest answers please no biases

For the fronts stay with the brand you have as the L/R and there recommended. The CC370 is a good Center speaker and a great match for the Paradigms but not for the Axiom. For the rears that's up to you to decide. But remeember the Axioms are a Quad pole and the Paradigms are Dipoles different sounds, for my 2 cents stay with the same manu for all except the sub.

I recently sold a pair of Paradigm 9SE's that are very similar to Monitor 9's along with a CC370 center channel. I replaced these with M3ti's for the fronts and the VP100 center channel after auditioning them in my home for a couple of weeks. I realize you may really like your Monitor 9's, but I feel that the Axiom speakers have much better transparency and detail compared to most Paradigm speakers. I also listened to the Studio 20's and 60's and I feel that the M3ti's are more musical in every way except deep bass. I was a diehard Paradigm guy until I listened to the Axioms. I have an M & K powered sub so the low frequency extension was not a problem. I still have Paradigm rears that match up fairly well with the Axiom fronts and center. Because of my room configuration, I used Monitor inwall speakers. I would also say that I agree with doreytp to use matched fronts and centers for home theater and multi channel music as everything is much smoother that way.

I don't think you can go wrong with either one. They are all great speakers. I think it really comes down to personal preference. I looked at Paradigm as well before buying my Axioms. My brother-in-law has studio 20s and the cc370. They sound great, but I also know what he spent on them. The axioms were 30-40% less. There is no comparison in that catagory. I actually prefered the Axioms. I have both the qs8s and the vp150. I love them, although I have never actually heard the axioms paired with paradigm.

Good Luck,

Paul
