Hi,
I have question in M3 and M22

Last night, after the calibration (M3 as Front, QS4 surround and vp-150 as center), i thought M3 didn't sound loud enough. the room is 12 x 26, but i only sit 10 feet from tv.

1> Does it matter if M3 must fill the whole room or just the area where i sit from tv even though I place the mic at my sitting position to calibrate speakers?

2> Is M22 better? I don't want to get floor standing speaker at all as i know that M60 would be better , but i have it and it serves as my 2-channel music already.

thanks.
audiofan,

The idea in calibration is to get all the speakers to sound equally loud when fed signals of equal amplitude. Also, if you generally sit in one spot when listening to your music or watching movies, then how your system sounds from THAT spot is the most important.

At what decibel level did you calibrate your speakers?

I wouldn't say the M22 is better than the M3 at playing louder, either. Both should be capable of playing at levels of at least 90dB from 10 feet away in your size room, driven with an average amp.
AF, although the size of the room is one factor which affects the loudness at the listening position, as Peter indicates, no, the speakers don't necessarily have to "fill" the room. The level at the listening position is what counts and that's where the calibration is measured.
Sorry that i didn't pay attention to the db level as i use Denon mic to auto calibrate. I will try again tonight. Thanks.
