I thought I would move this discussion over here versus the "What are............" thread.

Anyway, I got this thing today and after about two hours of listening, and an hour for my back to recover from lifting it, I must say that it's not too shabby at all. Power to burn.

I will post more on it later but so far it's not having any problems keeping up with the ohm load. As soon as I know it will keep up, I have to unhook it again and set it up somewhere else. The chair is a temp thing!

Thats good to hear.It must be one hell of an amp to be able to run in bridged mode with such a load and not have any trouble doing it.Keep us informed.

Hey Rick, well I just spent the last 30 or so minutes hitting over a 100db out of the front three channels and it didn't even blink. I was a little worried if the center speaker would take it, but it did and performed well.

One thing that has got me a little off guard is how power hungry the Rockets are. I knew they were greedy but I didn't realize just how much.

Really? Why is that? Because of their sensitivity? Ohms? I have a pair of 550's and am considering adding more juice to them someday.

I think it's a little of everything. If you are thinking of adding more power all I can say is, the Rockets will love you for it. I'm feeding them a boat load of power now and it's amazing what power can do. When I get going on the volume the bass response is outstanding compared to what is was before.

Well I have put this thing through the paces and it continues to handle the tough ohm load without a problem.

Great amp!

If anyone needs a power amp with what appears to be endless power reserves I would suggest that you at least look at the ATI line.

NH...do you mind if I post how much I paid for my 1502 and 1505? I don't want to get you into trouble.

Go ahead and tell us Curtis. How much do these amps cost ?
Posted By: curtis Re: ATI 1506 - 08/07/05 02:26 AM
I bought mine used off of Audiogon.

The 1505 was local and I paid $700. The 1502 was $350 shipped.

I just got a taste of NuForce amps....www.nuforce.com....loved what they did in my system. Unfortunately, they are not cheap, and I can not justify that expense. But because I had them, I have gotten a bit of the upgrade bug when it comes to amps.
