Somebody recently posted a comprehensive correction chart for the analog rat shack meter. I can't find it in the posts. Can somebody repost this and if possible let me/us know where these numbers came from. (I noticed they were a bit different from the numbers that Dr. Hsu from Hsu research gave me a while back)

As always any help much appreciated

SVS also has a handy-dandy correction chart here :

http://www.svsubwoofers.com/faq_rscomp.htm

As you might expect, it only corrects from 10 to 125 hz

I wonder why Dr. Hsu's are a bit different

Oh well I will run a test with these and see how it goes

Probably nothing more sinister than the two Rat Shack meters (at SVS and Hsu) giving different readings. They're not exactly B&K

I have heard on a number of occasions that the RS meters, especially for the lower freqs are a tad bit off on accuracy, not sure, just hearsay, please Axiom police don't whip me, thank you sir can I have another.....

is the digital meter better or more accurate?
cost $10 more

Most seem to recommend the analog model.

can anyone tell me why they prefer the analog model
thanks

Well I finally actually looked at Hsu's values compared with this list and it is the same looks like Hsu just rounded off the .5 on the figures.

SirClyde, Don't know specifically why the analog is better but I do know that Dr. Hsu told me specifically to get the analog and not the digital and it had nothing to do with price. Sorry don't know if it is more accurate, consistant, easier to read, easier to use or what. But it is what most have and heck if it is a bit cheaper. . .why not.

SirClyde,
I have both analog & digal units, I perfer the analog because of the 1/4 db reading of the analog unit apposed to the whole number readout on the digatal unit. Hope this helps.

I like the analog meter because sometimes there is unavoidable background noise which makes the reading jump a bit... and a jumpy analog meter is easier to read than a jumpy digital meter.
