Would like to hear from those who have purchased the new M2i
speakers. Please post your reviews/comments.

I bought a pair about a month ago and liked them a lot. So much so that it gave me the "grass is always greener syndrome". It made me wonder how good the m22's were. I sent the m2's back and got the m22's. The m22's are quite a bit better, much more detailed and three dimensional.

I would like to offer my untrained opinion:

I have been listening to my M2i for about two months now and like them a lot. The M2i replaced the M2ti which replaced my Paradigm Atom which replaced my NHT Superzeros.

The superzeros made wind instruments sound like miniatures. The Atoms sound warm but not as clear as the Axioms. I do miss the Atoms lush and nice sound of string instruments and the details of wind instruments (trompets sounds like real ones).

On some material, the M2i's may sound thin, but overall, I am pretty happy with them coupled with a Hsu VTF-3 powered subwoofer. The Hsu sub is a must for both music and movies.

NOTES: These speakers are driven by my Outlaw 1050 receiver. At first I liked the "natural" mode as much as straight stereo, but discovered later that this mode tend to boost the high frequency a little more than I'd like.

I end up prefer the "Phantom" mode where, in addition to the two front speakers, DSP processed sound is sent to the rear/surround M2ti speakers. This mode offers the same tonal quality and imaging, basically, of the stereo mode, but adds more depth (and volume due to addition of the rear speakers). The other DSP modes add too much reverberation for music listening. The Outlaw does not have Prologic II.
