Hello All, looking at purchasing some M2Ti which i can get locally from a friend (look new). Wanted to ask you all if their is a big difference in sound from the M2ti and the current M2V2?

It is my understanding there would be very little "audible" difference.

Hi merritt,

SirQuack is correct. The changes from the M2ti to the M2v2 were mainly mechanical (different binding posts), not acoustical.

Thank You both for your response. I'm setting up a theater room that is 18'X11.5' (8' ceiling). The first row seating will be 10' from screen and speakers. I've decided (ordered) to go with the M3ti's and a VP100 and I have a sub that they will be added to. Axiom surround will have to be ordered next month. Do you think that will be a good setup for my size room? Thanks again

Are you ordering from the Factory Outlet? Just wondered because you get 10% off, plus if you order 5 or more items at one time, you get another 5% off. That might make sense if you can afford to do so...

The m3's should do ok, especially with a decent sub helping them. Full range floorstanding speakers would give you a better overall soundstage with seperate tweeters/mids/woofers. A lot depends on how loud or how you will use the speakers, movies or music or both...

Hi merritt,

I think you'll be fine with the M3s and VP100 plus your add-on sub. The M3s will play cleanly remarkably loud. If, however, you found you wanted greater dynamics in peak volume levels with movie soundtracks or music, you could always upgrade to the M22s. Because of the M22's three drivers, they have greater dynamic capability. There is no charge for return shipping within the 30-day trial period if you upgrade to a more expensive speaker (the M22s vis-a-vis the M3s).
