The new McIntosh Turntable levitates the platter magnetically to remove vibrations and claims to remove low end rumble.

I don't know how much better that makes the music but considering I spend a portion of every day staring in awe at my levitating Tardis on my desk, I have to give it a LOT of cool factor points.

That's pretty sweet.

I'll take two.

And a microphone.

Know what else removes low-end rumble? Playing from a digital source. Though I suppose this could be good for the one playback of rare records to get a good recording to a better media.
