Well, today is car wash, wax and detail day. I have Momo 6.5" speakers in door, with separate 1" tweeters, a pair of little Infinities in the rear shelf. I have an Alpine head unit, but thinking of upgrading to something with bluetooth and built in SiriusXM.

Summer is coming. Clean is good!

21 year old, Honda S2000 with 62,000 miles. Looking pretty good!

I wish Axiom had an auto audio line of products. I'd get 'em.

Oh, and it has a 10" MTX subwoofer in the trunk along with a 1 channel amp for the sub and a 4 channel amp for front and rear speakers. I can still get 2 gold bags in there.

and of course, the 9000 rpm AP1 wonder.

That car has a nicer rug than most living rooms.
Oh, and nice car ... you really have taken care of it.

I wash mine like once every 4 years ... unless my wife takes them in.

Yup, she's a black diamond. Looking pretty nice for a good old girl.

I've always wanted to pick up an S2000. Once the building projects are done I might look for one to putt around town in.

Hi CanesFaninVA

Yes, they are pretty nice. My first drop-top. Good for cruising the Pacific Coast Highway along the ocean. Great 6 speed manual transmission. White hot between 6000 and 9000 rpm. Engine is sewing machine smooth. Lots of fun!

Mine is pretty stock, except for Comptech strut bar brace, Spoon lower front X brace, Stainless steel braided brake lines.

There are supercharger and turbocharger kits available. I've fought the impulse, but it persists.

I wouldn't mod it much. I have a 95 EG Civic with an H22 turbo swap in it. It's not operable right now because I'm in the process of tearing it down and rebuilding the bottom end.

Is that a blown Prelude engine in a Civic?
Posted By: Canesfan27 Re: New Head Unit Car Wash Day - 04/26/21 09:21 PM
It's not blown, just needs a little TLC on the bottom end so I can increase the boost. But yes it's a JDM out of a 1995 Prelude.

That must be exciting! Swap from a rear wheel drive Prelude to a FWD Civic must have been quite a job!

Question, if you're not forced induction, what boost are you looking to boost?
Posted By: Canesfan27 Re: New Head Unit Car Wash Day - 04/26/21 10:59 PM
Prelude was FWD. it’s forced induction. I added a t3/t4 turbo and had it bored out and rebuilt with a bigger compression wheel. I can comfortably hit 600 whp once the bottom end is beefed up.

Right now it’s on stock compression and the boost is capped at 8 psi. Once I change the rods and pistons and lower the compression I’ll run boost around 20-21 psi

Silly me. Of course, the Prelude was FWD. I had 2 of them, an 83 manual (my favorite car ever) and an 86 2.0si. Went to Legends after that. All manuals. My 93 Legend LS coupe 6 speed manual, was how I got my user name, 2x6spds (Honda S2000 and Legend coupe)

My goodness, 600 HP and FWD! That must be a hoot. How do you get that kind of power to the ground?
Posted By: Canesfan27 Re: New Head Unit Car Wash Day - 04/27/21 01:38 PM
Had to add a LSD. At 275 whp and a regular differential the wheel would almost jerk out of your hands if you floored it. I've seen some guys push 800 hp out of those engines but I don't want to go to that much cost to make it happen. I'll probably keep the power around 400 whp which is more than enough in that lightweight car and it'll extend the life of the turbo too. I'll probably drive it occasionally but take it to the track if I want to push it through its paces.

And I thought it was your 12 speed bicycle ... 2 gears up front and 6 gears in the rear smile

Well, got the S2000 back from Autowave. 70mm throttle body, bored intake manifold, heads polished, cut and flowed by the people who do the Honda Indy cars, piggy back ECU and harness so the AP1 2.0 liter engine's parameters can be adjusted, new hoses and belts, all fluids replaced. About 220 RWHP.

Wow, is this thing quick!

Summertime, and the livin' is easy, fish are jumpin' and the cotton is high. Honda is screamin' and daddy's good lookin'
