These Michaura M665s are beautiful. They use the Axiom 0.75" Titanium tweeters and the 6.5s and 5.25s should look familiar ... the black eyed peas!

The hex shaped cabinets are incredibly rigid.

The faux rosewood is just beautiful!

The sound quality is excellent! I'm sure no pair of M665s ever sounded better than these. The Balanced Audio Technology monoblocks, BAT preamp and some pretty good sounding components are pretty terrific.

I sold the M80s to add to the new equipment kitty. I am holding these Michauras for a friend.

PS they are not in the system at the moment, but while posting the 'fiddling' thread I saw these pix and thought they were pretty enough to share.

Yep, those are very high on the "pretty" scale.

Is that the original finish or did you rework them ?

I haven't been on this board for quite awhile and it's great to see 2x6spds is still around as I was first introduced to him on one or two other audio forums back-in-the-day when the Michaura M55's were being sold on uBid. I'm still using my modified M55's as mains in my HT although I'm seriously considering buying the Axiom M5HP's in the near future. Those M665's sure look sweeeeeet.

Yes, these are in the original faux rosewood wrap. They are gorgeous. I spoke with Ian, years ago, about this finish. He told me that the wrap was sourced in the USA and were either no longer available or had become too expensive. Too bad, Beautiful. I have 6 Michaura M55s (like the M22s, twin 5.25" black eyed pea drivers) and a pair of M66s, a smaller version of the M50, twin 6.5" drivers, all with Axiom's excellent titanium 0.75" tweeter. I'll post some pix of them when I have the time.

Hi Kevin, the M55s are great speakers! I modified a few pairs and used them in a 2 channel with a sub and tube amp years ago. Sounded terrific. I got a few from Ubid as well, ended up buying the last pallet of Michauras from the folks in Massachusetts, including a few pairs of M665s. Significantly more expensive than Ubid, but well worth it. What wonderful speakers. The hex shape cabinet is very interesting. Extremely rigid, and fewer congruent inner surfaces than a box. I think Axiom should consider the design for another line of speakers.
