Hi,
I am trying to find a good used stereo amp to power my energy veritas 2.2 speaker. Currently I am using a Harman Kardon AVR-320 65WX2 to power the speaker. I am trying to find a more powerful amp and use the Harman Kardon as a pre/pro. Any suggestion is appreciated?
Hello duong
I use some Onkyo M282, 2 x 120 wpc/8 ohm amps. You can get them on ubid.com from time to time for a bit over $120 each, or mfg refurbished units from onkyo for about $200 each. You can check your local classifieds and pennysaver -sometimes you can find terrific values like Onkyo M504s, B&K's, Bryston, Anthem, ATI, Yamaha (M80's), etc. G'luck.
duong,
2x6spds has some great suggestions. In addition, I would add to look for the Odyssey Stratos although it may be hard to locate a used one. Try audiogon. Sushi might sell you his Adcom when he upgrades to the 3.6Rs. eh Masa
!
MWC,
Oddyssey is out of my price range. But Adcom is OK. But which model?
Sorry duong,
I'm not up on Adcom stuff but Perhaps Sushi is and will have some suggestions.
I just purchased a factory refurbished Denon DRA-685 stereo receiver. 100w x 2, 0.05% THD, tone defeat (bypass),pre-out and main-in jacks. I'm sure you're looking for an integrated amp (and probably something more costly), but the Denon receiver works and sounds great. A very noticeable improvement (especially at lower volume listening) over my previous receiver. And, an awesome price!
Rotel RB-1070 is a very nice amp. I use one. You can get one used for about $400-500. It's certainly one of the better looking amps out there as well.
Adcom GFA-555II. Best bang 4 your buck...
