I have the M60s with VP150 center and QS4 surrounds. Right now I'm in the market for a new receiver. My system is mainly used for music 80 percent of the time and HT 20 percent of the time. Which of these two receivers would be a good match for the speakers?

The cd player is Cambridge Audio D500se.

do you listen to music in 2-channel??? is so, maybe a pre-amp for 2-channel listening and an a/v receiver for HT

how do the m60s sound?? i am looking to purchase the m50s maybe the m60s not sure yet and a CC. I presently have the denon 2801, but I am researching to find a pre-amp for 2-channel to compliment my a/v receiver when I listen/watch HT. Also, I have the cambridge d500se...let me know which way you go, because our systems have similar components.....
kt260963,

I haven't been a fan of Marantz these days. I heard that receiver at Audiotronic, and compared to the Denon 2802, I'd pick the denon. The Marantz is more expensive, has less features, and the sound is simply not as good. I like the neutral sound of the Denon. The Marantz, in music, made the midrange sound muddier, and the bass was a bit thumpy. So what if the Denon remote is wierd, what counts is how it works and how it sounds, and the 2802 sounds great. If I had the money, I would have bought the 3802 or 2802, but I had to go way down and buy the 1602, which is still a GREAT receiver, especially for the price I paid for it.
