Hi anyone,

Does NAD c350 work well with M 60ti? I like to listen serious classical and jazz music? Or should I go for M3ti with a subwofer (and can anyone recommend one?)
Tks.

Hi Jay,

Just answered your email, but site visitors are welcome to post their comments on the differences in the tonal balance of the M60ti vs. the M3ti (with subwoofer).

Regards,

From my experience, if you are listening to more music than home theater, you should probably go with the towers. The reason I suggest the tower speakers is because a monitor/sub combo may make the bottom end sound bloated, mushy, or cause inconsistencies in the frequency response around the lower mids or upper base.

Here comes the kicker though, monitors like the M3ti usually have better sound staging and imaging than tower speakers. It also depends on your living space as well. If you have limited space for the speakers (ie. less than 8ft apart) then you would almost definitely have to go with the M3's. If this is the case then my suggestion is to either not use a sub or get a quality sub like REL or something from ACI (which is another online speaker company), and set the crossover frequency as low as you can (which is another discussion).

There goes my two cents.

I would go with the towers too as you will get a more seamless bandwidth for stereo music listening. It can be a bit of hit and miss trying to get a perfectly smooth mesh between the speakers and the sub for serious music listening.
The M60TiSe are also a three way design so there's a driver dedicated to the vocal range so expect more detailed voices on the M60TiSe over the M3Tise.
The M60TiSe are no slouch in the stereo imaging department either. With proper positioning, they can disappear sonically very nicely and present you with a very convincing soundstage.

Marc...

I agree 100% on the imaging and soundstage of the 60s!

I have them towed in slightly (aimed a bit more toward my main seating position) and the imaging is wonderful!

Cant speak to the m3s as I have never heard them. But the 60s work superbly for both music and HT! And you are correct on the vocals. Very clear due to the 3 way design. Thats why I chose them over the 50s. (had both at home at the same time)

Thank you for your very useful inputs. Does anybody want to comment on NAD C350?

I like it
I find it a bit pricey
but I like it
it's a lot like the Cambridge 500, only slightly more powerful, slightly more expensive, and maybe slightly better, but it's VERY hard for me to say because I couldn't compare one on one.

If you can afford it, buy it, unless you want a super powerful amp. It's a real nice piece of work, as is the Cambridge.
