ok. i just picked up my new vp100 and qs8 surrounds, and they look perfect. i am a little suprised how small the qs8's are compared to the rocket surrounds of similar design. i am not sure if this is a big deal or not. i'll post more when i have them hooked up and have given them a listen.
Congrats, Now get those puppies hooked up and tell us what you think.
small?
They definately are not light.
well yes, compared to the size of the rocket dipoles..they are much smaller in size.
You have Rocket Dipoles too?
Small!
Except for the sound, you almost can't tell they're there!
man, he must have a whole house full of speakers by now.
nope. i have seen them though..and they are twice the size, and twice the weight...22 lbs each. i have not hooked up the qs8's yet...not sure where to put them as of now
ok. i have these, but have not put them up yet. i have a small problem, i only have a wall on one side of the room...the other side of my sitting area is open. i do have a post there, and i guess i could hook it up there, but then it will put the speakers more in the "middle" of the room instead of behind me. is this the CORRECT placement for my side surrounds if i'm using 7.1 setup? anyone got a decent pic of a 7.1 setup with the side surrounds actually AT the sides of the room? i have my 2 rear centers directly behind and above my seating position, and currently my side rear surrounds just slightly behind and to the sides of my seating position now.
I think that you will find that the QS-8s sound just fine. I really like mine.

Yep. I own a pair of rocket dipoles(elt dpa's). They are physically larger and heavier than the axiom qs8's. I won't get into what sounds better, but they both sound great.

Are you saying that your side surrounds are slightly behind you? Like a foot or two? If they are you should be good to go.
no. my side surrounds are basically just beside/behind my chairs/seating position on either side, then my rear surrounds are up a few feet and directly behind each lazyboy chair.
