Hello people I am very new to this board. I just recently ordered a Pioneer 1015 and have been thinking of going with the Axiom M22's for my fronts, VP150 for rears, and the M3Ti or M2 for my rears. Anybody here own this receiver???? If so, how does it compliment the Axiom speakers??? What speakers are you using if you are using the Pioneer 1015? Keep in mind that I do NOT listen to multi-channel music only stereo/2-channel. My preference in on music BUT do want excellent home theater effect when watching dvd. Most importantly, I want a center speaker that reproduces dialogue clearly and precisely. Please comment if you can. Thank you for your time. Have a great afternoon.

Hey Speakerman.....welcome to our home.

First of all, I think you meant to say to use a VP150 for your center, not rear? The VP150 is a great center speaker, you won't be disapointed.

I have not owned a 1015, but that is a great receiver. I know a few people that are very happy with that model. It will work great with the speakers you've selected.

Are you planning a 5.1 or 7.1 setup for surround movie watching? Instead of 3's or 2's for the left/right surrounds, I would highly recommend you look at the Qs8's or Qs4's for surround purposes. Those are one of Axioms biggest sellers, and are intended for the surround channels. If your talking about a 7.1 setup, you could use m3's or m2's for the rear channels, however, I would still tell you to consider the Q series for the left/right channels.

I used to always use bookshelves for my surround channels, but once I switched to Qs8's it was a whole new experience that bookshelves just can't compare.

Welcome again and have a great day....

Randy

Also, many of us order from the Factory Outlet to save some green (10%). If a budget is a problem, this might let you get more speaker for the money..You also get an additional 5% if you buy 5 or more items at the same time..

Yes I meant the VP150 is for my center channel duties. I plan on a 5.1 set-up. It is good to hear that some members here have a Pioneer1015 receiver as well. Anyways, thanks for the advice. If there are any other members here that would like to add a comment or two please by all means do so.

Speak, sure the 1015, along with all other well-designed amplifying equipment, provides transparent reproduction suitable for all speakers; no "matching" is required.

I'd also suggest that you consider QSs for the side surrounds in a 5.1 setup. Also keep in mind that two-channel material doesn't mean that you're not able to make full use of all your speakers. Using processing such as DPLII serves to extract the ambience present(to varying degrees)in two-channel sources which came from directions other than the front, and sends it to the surrounds where it belongs.

Thanks John for your comments. After owning a couple of Yamaha Receivers I have learned that they sound great with Paradigm and Polk speakers. If I could afford it I would no doubt own a Yamaha RX-V2600 or a Denon 2807/3806 and etc. but do not have the funds to do so. Therefore, I have been researching extensively and by all accounts the Pioneer 1015 seems to be basically the same as the Elite52 model. That is, the internal components are exactly the same according to the Pioneer Rep I know personally. The 1016 will be out in June which adds hdmi switching and allows for some lyp sync tweaking. Anyways, my point is the Pioneer 1015 is in my budget and seems to be one of the if not the best receivers I can get for under $500. Some electronics do sound better/worse with certain brands and as a result just am asking if there are any Axiom owners out there who are using a Pioneer 1015????
