Well my wiring is in, have three weeks till they arrive. Need some advice in setting up my system. Using Yamaha RVX1500 - M60 main, Vp150 center, QS8 Surrouns, and two older Energy presence, 350 Sub. Room is 15 x 18 with one side open. QS almost perfect, about 80% of where they should be, not totaly to the side. Can anyone comment on the setting I should use when I set up. Appreciate any comments.

You mean like "speakers small" and "crossover at 80"?

A good starting and ending point but toys are meant to be played with!

Yep, make sure you turn the crossover knob on the 350 all the way clockwise to allow for no confustion with the AVR's management of the crossover. Also, volume on the sub at 11 o'clock is a good starting point...

OK. do I set the fronts on large room, rear on small?
Just got notified that they are shipped, will be here on Monday - awsome, couple of weeks early.

Set all your speakers to small and let your sub handle the Bass.

I think that a good starting point is to read the Yahama manual a couple of times. It may give you a few ideas that you haven't thought of.

Bob, yes a good starting setting(and likely final, as well)would be all speakers small with an 80Hz crossover on the 1500 and bass directed to "SWFR". If you'll be using the Energy speakers for front presence rather than back surround then the QS8s should be slightly farther back than directly to the side so that they can provide some back imaging. Use DPLII for two channel and 5 channel sources when not using special presence effects.
