Greetings!!
I have read reviews of all of them. My room is 20x25. Music/Movies 50/50 %
1. With a subwoofer crossover around 80Hz, what difference would M2i's exibit against M22s? Would the mid-range sound similar? Would the bass details be similar?
2. How do you define "thinness" of M2i as against M3Ti and M22?
3. How good is M3Ti for HT as compared with M2i and M22?
4. If I go the M2 way, should I get VP150 or VP100?
5. Which of the following combinations is better than the others in mid-range clarity and sweetness?
-M2i fronts and rears, VP100/VP150, HSU VTF-2 sub
-M3Ti fronts, M2i rears, VP100/VP150, HSU VTF-2 sub
-M22 fronts, M2i rears, VP150, HSU VTF-2 sub

Thanks.

Abhi, I assume that you've read the SoundStage reviews and analyzed the NRC measurements; 1. from that you should see that with a cross at 80hz the upper bass and midrange of the M2 and M22 would be essentially identical; 2. the M2 and M22 aren't "thin", but the upper bass emphasis present in the M3 makes it sound "fuller" than them in that 80-150hz area, although the M2 and M22 are more accurate there;3.their relative quality for HT is no different than it is for music; 4. I would prefer a third vertical M2 as the center, but the VP150 is considered to be the better of the horizontal centers; 5. the combinations using M2s or M22s would have an edge over the M3 in midrange clarity, but if a slightly depressed lower midrange equates to "sweetness" for you, then the M3 has the advantage there, although it isn't what I want.

Thanks John for the reply. I have Energy Encore speakers mated with HSU VTF-2. I'm planning to upgrade with either M2i's for all channels or M2i's for front and center and QS4 for surround. I already have a single QS4 as the surround back channel. Give your thoughts about this setup.

Abhi, since you have an excellent sub in the VTF-2, the lack of mid and low bass in the M2s wouldn't be a factor and three of them across the front should do very well. As to the surrounds, it's a question of how direct or how diffuse you want the surround material. Since you're already using a QS4 as a back surround, if you like it there you probably would like two of them as side surrounds even more.

Abhi,

I think the last set up M22,M2, vp150 would be more of an upgrade.

I agree, the VP150 and M22's match perfectly, and they are spectacular!
