I am going to buy my first set of speakers in 12yrs. I currently have Cerwin Vega AT-8's, that I've had thru college and the 8 yrs since and have liked the sound. The highs seemed crisp and the bass seemed tight and quick.
My dilemma is whether to buy the M3ti's 'more laid back sound' or the M22ti's 'more precise midrange'. I don't listen to very much classical music, but my music styles do vary from some jazz, some blues, some older R&B, some Motown and quite a bit of recorded "live" music and alot of older rock and roll. From Clapton, Grateful Dead, and the Allman Brothers to Dave Matthews and Fleetwood Mac.
Also, this will be the start of a HT setup. Which speaker would you deem most enjoyable, considering my tastes? And what additions to that pick would you add to make a 6.1 system, as I just purchased an Onkyo TX-SR600.

Never mind. Just bought some m3ti's and qs4's. Hope I'm as happy with them as everyone here is. Thanks for a great forum.

Recieved my m3's and qs4's about a week ago, hooked them up to my new Onkyo and after several adjustments got the right mix and am very happy with the purchase. After reading alot of good reviews and some that said the Axioms were a little "bright", I was excited yet a tad apprehensive in my first listenings. They did seem a "bright", but I think that's because I was looking for it! So, I just kept listening and the so called brightness disappeared. Yesterday I listened to everything from tony Bennett and Diana Krall to Metallica (live with orchestra behind them) and LOVED it all with my new speakers. I have'nt watched a DVD that showed off the QS4's (any suggestions).

OOPs, Did'nt mean to post yet! To finish, I am amazed with the clarity AND bass of the M3Ti's. The soundstage is also wonderful. I still need a sub and a center (looking for a VP100) to complete my HT, and then I will be in Audio-Video BLISS!
