i'm considering picking up a sub, but not sure 100% which one and if required???

looking at the two models from Axiom EP150 or the 350.

Have M80, QS8, & VP150.

Room dimensions are

15' X 30' X 8'.

Room will mostly be used for movies.

What is your advice?

Axiom doesn't have an EP150, are you referring to the EP500?

There is an EP125 and EP175, no EP150?

What is your budget? For that room your going to need a decent sub, I would say get at least the EP350 or higher if you can afford it.

One more for the minimum to look at is the EP350 or possibly dual EP350's, which are about the same price as a sinlge EP500, but the EP500 has the edge with it's DSP.

I'd say the EP350 should be the minimum with M80s. Because if the 500 is the minimum, I'd be a sad puppy.

You're ok Ken, you can be a happy puppy.

I like the idea of two 350s in that sized room.

I like the idea of two Hsu VTF 3 MK3s in that size room. They're 10% off right now.

I could sell him my almost new 350's and get an 800.

I doubt 1 EP500 could match the output of two of the Hsu subs. They would also give the advantage of multiple subs taming room responses. They also did better on Craigsubs list than did the 500.

I am hoping to find the right place for one sub. Can't fit 2 subs in here and I like that everything is front loaded on the 500 The Hsu wouldn't work for me. ( I thought the VTF3 MK3 was very close to the EP500 on Craigsub's list) I've read quite a few great reviews on the 500 although most of them were a few years old. Seems like it was a pretty top contender before everyone stated passing them by. The "mammoth" 600 and 800 is not for everyone.

Even 1 Hsu is a big box. Two of them probably put it out pretty good. I guess I'll just have to settle.

Well it certainly should be close seeing the the EP500 is $500 more than the Hsu, shipping included. I hope you enjoy the 500 but there are subs of equal performance to be had, for less

I had the truck stopped at Niagra Falls and remove the EP500!

I know that there are subs thought more highly of then the 500 for the money. Getting it at 10% off from the Outlet Store and the extra 5% discount really helped bring the cost more into line. Plus if it ends up being placed in sight in the room it will match the other speakers. It is what it is.

$1051.65 shipped is what I paid for the EP500.

Your right Bob, with the discounts and a matched look, the EP500 isn't too far off the mark.
