FountBoy42 and MrClean,

Your decision comes down to whether you want 6.1 or 7.1

When you compare the 2803 and 1803's amplifiers, you get only 10 watts per channel more. That's not significant.

The real difference is 6.1 with the 1803, but 7.1 with the 2803. If that extra channel is important to you, then you have no choice.

My listening of the difference with 6.1 to 7.1 is not that great, but not that bad. If you're willing to fork over the extra few hundred for a 2803, then a few more hundred for a cable and another speaker, then go with the 2803. If you want to save 500-1000$, go with the 1803.

In rooms your sizes, 7.1 will not be 'lost'. you can take advantage of it. It's your decision whether it;s worth the extra cash or not.

If I had the money, I'd go 7.1. Why? more future proof, more sound, more speakers, more fun
I just bought the 2802 and love it's performance. 90W in 5.1 or 6.1. Has the processors for 7.1 but not the amp. Got it open box for $500 US. Adequate power, excellent resolution, learning remote. Can be had new online for under $600. 6.1 has got to be enough don't you think?
