I currently own a pair of Axiom M22ti bookshelf speakers. I love them. I've listened to a TON of other speakers, and nothing has come close to the clarity of my M22's. Until possibly now. I listened to a pair of Veritas 2.2's the other day and was VERY impressed.

Anybody have any experience with these? Yes, yes, I know - the Veritas are nearly 4x the cost of a pair of M22's. I know that. I'm just curious to hear other peoples opinions of the 2.2's. Not many speakers really stand out and impress me, and these did.

One other thing I found curious as well, was the the Veritas 2.4 towers cost $3600 vs. the 2.2's $1500. The sound difference was minimal. Perhaps at tremendous volumes the difference would become more striking, but at normal, to somewhat high levels, in a smallish room, the difference between the two was startlingly similar. What gives?

Love to hear some comments.

They are seriously good speakers. Aside from the sound quality which is excellent, the build quality and attention to detail is tremendous. You do have to pay a bit to get them though.

If you like the Veritas 2.2 try out the PMC TB2 or PMC DB1. It is also in the same range as the Veritas.

I got off work early today and visited a hi-fi place I hadn't been to before. I was kinda hoping they had some entry-level/mid-grade stuff, including the Veritas. They carried all high-end gear, with exception to the lower-end B&Ws.

I listened to B&W, Thiel, Martin Logan, and Wilson Watt Puppy. I played the same song on all of them...a live performance of Hotel California by the Eagles.

The Thiel 2.4 just blew me away. I preferred the sound of the Thiel over the Wilson Watt Puppy. However, the Wilson could do something the Thiel could not. Near the beginning of the song the audience claps and whistles etc....and I swear it sounded like I was there in the audience. That was amazing.

I am still drooling over the Thiel. Any chance the M80 even comes remotely close? I won't hold my breathe.
