Hey everyone, quick question. Do you think a Denon AVR-890 will be enough to power two M60's and a VP 150? Our room is pretty big. I am more concerned with good sound quality than ear-bleeding levels. For both all channel stereo music and movies. Thanks!
Most definately, unequivocally, most assuredly....I think so.
....that is to say, yes, absolutely.
what is pretty big? My room is 8,000 cu ft and my old Denon 2805 used to drive the m60 7.1 setup with no problems and my current 3808 drives the m80's 7.3 setup with no issues.
You will have no problems, especialy as you say you do not want it LOUD. I ran M80s with an 1804 and it was just as good sonically as my current 3808.
Matt, your listening distance is a more significant factor than room size is, and a room doesn't have to be "filled" with sound at the level which is adequate where you're sitting. At typical distances and at comfortably loud, but safe, listening levels, your 890 should have ample capacity.
I have the 890 powering my M80s and it has no problem filling up my 20x11ft room to a very loud level.
Denon makes quality AVR's. They are known to be stable even with 4 ohm speakers such as the M80's when used within their limits.
