Hi all,

In the "dumb question" category: Are there any cheap and effective makes of banana plugs that allow one to insert the end of the speaker wire into the rear end of the plug before screwing it down, rather than into the side? I'd like to tidy up the speaker wire mess in the back of my receiver, but I haven't found that side-loaded banana plugs (I have a pair of IXOS) actually help that much. If there is such a thing as an effective breech-loading banana plug, does Parts Express sell it? Thanks!

They sell these at home depot. i bought a few to terminate my old speakers wires with that i was going to use for biwire. They are decent plugs, but i would reccomend sealing them up with some heat shrink so you add more durability. I believe they were made by RCA

I am using some Acoustic Research plugs like that from accessories4less.com, but I don't see them now on the web site. They are part number AR HT407.

They certainly look the same, but the ones I bought were only $6.49 for two pairs.
