I actually have 2 possibility for a new a/v reciever.

Denon 4310CI for 1,000$ CDN
and
Integra DTR-70.1 for also 1.000$ CND

I know there is more Denon fan's here so i want to know hoe Denon sounds, i guess the 44XX line is more than enough in term of power.

Sorry i am sure this kind of post have been discuss but can't find one and need advide quickly.

Yhank you

I guess the Denon would "sound" the same as the Integra.

Myself personally, would lean towards the Integra, however, just out of curiosity where is that available since that is a pretty good price for that unit considering that despite the minimal difference between the US/Can dollar, we are generally "gouged" in Canada pricewise for the Onkyo/Integra product compared to the US.

From my experience they are pretty protective of their Canadian distributor and prohibit importing the unit from any "authorized resellers" in the US.

Denon unit is from CAM and Integra from audiogon member.

I’ve had both Denon and Onkyo (which I assume work similar to Integra) and the only real difference I’ve found between them is how accessible the various functions are. On my Denon I could toggle Audyssey on/flat/off on my Onkyo the toggle is only on/off to get the flat curve the THX settings must be used. The same goes for the other controls where I could toggle the Denon between “direct/various dsp modes” or “music/cinema” in various surround modes on the Onkyo you have to cycle through all of them to get back to one if you missed it.

So IMO the Onkyo is easier for a new person to use but the Denon was a little more tweaker friendly so I guess it depends how much you plan on tweaking. At first I was tweaking a lot and the controls of the Onkyo pissed me off, but now that I’ve settled on the various presets for different inputs it’s no problem at all. BTW the Onkyo I have does have a toggle between Audyssey wide and height if both are hooked up.
