I just purchased HK AVR-525. Was planning on purchasing Axiom speakers. I think I'm all set on the M22ti's. The AVR-525 is an 8 ohm receiver. Will it be a major issue if the center and surrounds (QS8s and VP150) are 6 ohm speakers? Will the receiver get too hot?

A couple of things. Many of us use H/K receivers with our Axioms, and you will be very happy with the pairing. There is absolutely no problem with the H/K AVR525 powering the M22's, VP150 and QS8's. I have that exact speaker setup using the H/K AVR520 (predecessor to 525), and it works beautifully. There is no issue with the VP150 and QS8's being 6-ohm speakers.

Having said that, H/K receivers do run hot. So, you will want to give the H/K plenty of room to breathe on top. One feature that the 525 has that my 520 doesn't, is an internal fan. This is designed to prevent the receiver from overheating, but there are some people who find the fan annoying. I can't really speak to that as my receiver does not have the fan. Some others may have the 525 and be able to speak to that. Good luck, and you will definitely be pleased with that setup.
I've had the same combo hooked up to a pioneer receiver (8 ohms also), no problems yet.

Its only been a month though, so take it for what thats worth.

I've got 6 ohm speakers (just fronts) hooked up to my 525. It gets hot, but the fan never comes on. I wouldn't worry about it.

SL, the 525 handles those speakers with no problem. The "8 ohm" rating is to keep the Underwriters Laboratory happy so that you don't burn down the city and attain infamy matching Mrs. O'Leary's cow.
