OK, no one responded to my question on stain color. Would you indulge me on high gloss vs semi (the latter of which I own several Axiom pieces). I have always lusted for that deep high gloss look. It's pricey of course and warranted due to the significant labor of multiple coats. Hard to photograph, so can someone who took the plunge into the deep (gloss that is) please tell me how much you like it?! Yes, none of this is about pure listening pleasure, but I think an undervalued aspect of Axiom is quality and workmanship. So please don't get mad that I'm wasting time on an issue unrelated to sound quality! smile
You may want to give it a bit more time.

You only posted the question last night, and this board isn't so "active" that you can count on immediate answers.... especially on a weekend where many are on the road visiting mom!
I don't own any Axiom speakers with high gloss. I do own a high gloss Energy sub woofer and within 4 months of owning it, now it has small scratches all over it. (i can't figure out what caused them) and it looks beat up.

My other sub is a Mirage PS8 sub that is mat black stain. It's over 9 years old and still looks the same as the day I bought it.

If someone gave me the choice between high gloss and mat stain, I would go with the mat every time.
Yes, I will be patient for feedback. Happy Mother's Day everybody.
Once I bought a single M2 in real wood, simi-gloss. It looks rather "normal". Not a glossy look at all.
High gloss is very reflective if you have a light controlled room. Semi gloss looks quite good, with minimal reflection. Semi is a good compromise and does not show minor scratches as much as high gloss.
I hsve LFR1100's in high gloss and they look great! It does depend to some extent on the wood veneer though so if you're considering the option I recommend ordering a couple of samples first. Axiom was very helpful in sending these out to me and it is very difficult to get an idea what the final result will be without seeing it for real.

I would suggest that the real wood finish in high gloss does seem a bit more delicate compared to the vinyl finish so do be careful with them!
