Im looking for some help deciding which axiom speakers to go with. room size is 14x20x8 going to use three crown xls 402 amps and a sunfire pre amp(maybe-kind of high priced). And of course I want a lot of good sound for the best price. I have not heard the axiom speakers and don't know if I would really like the 80's or if the 60's would be fine. Going with a 7.1 setup.
Any help would be greatly appreciated

keeping with the "kinda high priced" theme: M60s R&l, VP150 center, 4 QS8s, HSU or SVS subs seem to be all the rage around here...This setup should make it painful, but fun, to stay in the room with the volumn turned up...

If you can afford "kind of high priced" gears, go for the M80 flagships by all means!

I just finished going through the same issue myself and listened to a lot of advise from the great people here in the user community as well as some of the great folks at Axiom and various audiophile magazine reveiws (by the way, I never could find a review for the M60Ti's) I did finally find 1 reviewer who was interviewing Ian and Ian's comment about the difference between the M80's and the M60's was that the 80;s could play "a lot louder". SO, I considered my room (16x22x8) and chose the M60's,VP150,QS8's and the EP175. Fogelberg to Vivaldi have never sounded so good! Let me just say that I can not imagine anyone wanting to play music any "louder" than my 90 w/ch receiver puts into this marvelous set of speakers. Did you ever hear of the threshold of pain? I don't jnow the actual Db level it is but I have no doubt that I do not need the M80's! BTW, I'm not sure yet if I'll keep the EP175 sub or return it and get the Hsu everybody likes so much but I have another 3 weeks to decide :-)

Don't forget to add yourself to the Axiom Audition list! That is, if you wouldn't mind showing off your speakers for other prospective (or current!) Axiom owners.

See the thread at the top of the Questions and Comments section if you're interested. I know a certain someone (other than me) who lives in Oakland who'd love to hear the M60s.

Hey audiobob thanks for the reply that is the kind of info I was looking for. What are you powering them with and how many watts?

thanks again

Welcome to the forum!
I have the M60s, VP150, QS8s and HSU-VTF2 sub in a 13 x 23 x 8 room, powered by a Pioneer Elite 45TX (100 watts/channel). And rest assured, for music and movies these speakers in this space are capable of way more sound output than I could ever stand. They are amazing. I had originally started with the M22s and they were also fine for this size room - I just felt I wanted somewhat of a fuller sound. You would not go wrong with the M60s.
