I currently have a VP150 that fits into my TV stand on a shelf below the TV. I have it inverted as suggested so the front slopes upward.

Looking at the VP160 product info there is a statement as follows:

"If your VP160 is going to be well below the TV you may want to choose the inverted version available in Customize Yours at no extra cost."

I couldn't find "Customize Yours" but the statement raises questions.

Why couldn't / wouldn't I just flip a standard VP160 over like I have the VP150?

Does the VP160 come with feet or does Axiom invert the positioning of the tweeter?

My 180 has feet on it's flat/square side so I'm certain the 160 would also(in regular form), not sure if the inverted form means simply installing the feet on the tapered side(probably) or not, combined with the tweeter inverted.

The feet, or the mounting holes if you unscrew & remove them, would be visible...

The shelf has a front lip that will hide about 1.5 inches of the top of the speaker; so if I flip the speaker then the tweeter will be in the clear and any feet or mounting holes will be hidden.

The VP160 height is listed as 11.5 inches which will just fit in the shelf of my Bella TV stand. So if I remove the feet what is the resulting height of the VP160? Anybody?

I just measured the height of the feet - 5/8" tall...

If you just flip it the tweeter will then be at the bottom , not desirable. In essence i believe they flip the speaker orientation relative to the slope of the speaker.

Thank you TAM. If Axiom includes the feet in their 11.5 inch height dimension, that would make the body of the VP160 just under 11 inches?

In this case it may better to have the tweeter at the bottom, than at the top where it would be behind the front lip that I mentioned above. That lip is wood and would partially block the sound from the tweeter.

That sounds right - speaker layout would be the same but the front panel would angle up rather than being vertical-ish...

... and the feet would not be sticking up like it had been dead for a week.

The height of the normal oriented speaker with the feet installed is 11.5". I just measured it...

We can make your VP160 with the feet on the angled side and the tweeter positioned so it would be at the bottom if you like.

And thanks for that offer Ian, but I will probably buy refurbished. I will take the feet off so that it will fit by sliding in from the end. The lip that drops down will hide any holes. I can always put the feet back on if I change location or resell it.
