Hi everyone just joined this forum, I've learned alot from the great info here...seems to be a great product. I've got $1,200cdn to start my HT, but the dilema is that my livingroom is very reflective: 3 concrete walls. Are there any techniques (affordable) on deadening the room.
Looking forward to testing M22ti

This came up the other day here and then someone linked to an AVSforum discussion where I caught wind of these guys. It's supposed to be one of the more affordable setups for improving room acoustics: Eighthnerve

I don't have any experience with them though so I can't offer a personal recommendation. Hopefully it's at least a starting place.

Aww crap..that's what I get for not fully reading your post. Sorry, didn't seen the budget guideline. Obviously with 1200cdn for everything I didn't offer a viable solution.

Hopefully someone else will have a suggestion.

welcome to the forum daroqles, there's lots of good information to be had here. On the question of treating a reflective room, here might be a good place to start. Alan states that normal room treatment would be sufficient in most cases - some drapes, a wall hanging or two, an area rug, some upholstered furniture, etc. Good luck.

I really have to agree with Alan on his thoughts about room acoustics. Obviously he's been in the business a long time and seen so many tests at both the Axiom 'furnished' facility as well as at the anechoic lab in Ottawa, however if you get the chance to hear your system in a locale other than your own room, the difference can be quiet astounding.
I have had the chance to bring my equipment over to a friend's basement for comparison. I posted my thoughts here (in blue). No special acoustic treatments were required.

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction. Once again Axiom forum is top notch for info.
