What kind of Jazz and New Age do you guys listen to? here's what I like most:
1)The Rippingtons - Black Diamond, Kilimanjaro, Tourist in Paradise and Weekend in Monaco.
2)Moodswings - Moodfood and Psychedelicatessen.
3)Mike Oldfield - Tubular Bells II and III, Voyager, The Songs Of Distant Earth.
4)Enigma - MCMXC a.D, The cross of Changes, Le Roi Est Mort Vive le Roi, The Screen Behind the Mirror, and Erotic Dreams.
5)Kitaro - Kojiki and KGaia Onbashira.
6)Paco de Lucia - Antologia
7)Spyro Gyra - The Deep End, Road Scholars, and Fast Forward.
8)Don't laugh but I do like most late 80s to early 90s stuff from Yanni, Kenny G and Dave Koz's.
(1)David Lanz- Return to the heart, beloved, skyline firedance, nightfall, sacred road and cristofori's dream. Heartsounds is next on my list.
(2)Enya- Paint the sky with stars.
(3)Ryan Oneill- Look Within.
(4)Miles Davis- Kind of Blue.
(5)Norah Jones- Come away with me.
You forgot Yanni! But seriously, he'll always have a special place in my heart due to a very memorable family road trip and limited tape selection when I was a kid. Ray Lynch gets a nod for the same reason.

New Age? I was into that... but not really any more.

Hello? Does no one else listen to jazz and/or new age?

Since you like Monk, you're obviously a discriminating jazz aficionado. I just picked up Thelonius's "Solo Monk" on CD. I had bought it years ago on vinyl (ahem). Also got "Monk's Dream" on CD with many alternate takes. Unlike some albums cluttered with alternate takes that were correctly omitted from the first release, the alternates on "Dream" are really good, because Monk never played the same thing the same way twice.

Cool. I don't know that I'm discriminating--I only know the big names--but I did sing jazz in college. I know what I like, though! I'll have to look into those albums. I would have listed Miles Davis, but that would be listing probably half of my jazz albums.
Just had another "I love my Axioms!" moment. I was listening to Thelonius Alone and I could hear the keys lifting in a few parts! Wow!
I'm not really into New age but....
Secret Garden's "Songs from a Secret Garden" is terrific.
George Winston's "Plains" is pretty nice. Like most of his stuff, being basically solo piano, it's not much of a sonic "showcase". But still, pretty nice.
Here are a few of my jazz favorites:
1) Keiko Matsui. One of my favorite artists. If you've never heard her, start with "Live" or the "Collection" She's a jazz pianist but occasionally you can find her music in the new age section. Most of the time she is considered "smooth jazz". Personally, I can't stand the "smooth jazz" genre in general, but Keiko mixes it up a lot.
2)The Bad Plus-These Are the Vistas. I don't have the new album, but this one is very enjoyable and they take a very different approach to jazz.
3)Charles Mingus-Ah Um. A classic. This is the only album I have of him, but I like this one a lot.
4)Medeski Martin & Wood...most anything from them. Funky & groovy!

Yeah, I wasn't sure whether Fleck fit in this category, but he's amazing. As are the Flecktones, which sometimes I think should be called the Wooten-tones.
I'm amused - Eldridge is out of favof here???
Definitely Acoustic Alchemy, album Back On the Case, The Beautiful Game, and Radio Contact, one of the most dynamic and best recording I've ever heard, they are my preference for auditioning speakers

I purchased an LP some years ago, Digital Duke (GRP) that was a tribute to Duke Ellington by modern artists who jammed to his tunes.
I was so blown away by both the tunes, and my setup at the time, that when it was issued on CD I purchased that as well.
My fav jazz CD is the 1997 reissue of Miles Davis's "Kind of Blue" on Columbia. This manages to sneak onto my M2i's constantly, either the CD or off the HTPC....
For piano afficianatos, I'd recommend "Piano Blues", the soundtrack from the film made by Clint Eastwood for the "Martin Scorsese Presents The Blues" series.
