Well, I took the plunge and while waiting in the airport on Monday, I ordered a pair of M60Ti towers, a VP100 center, a pair of QS8 surrounds and an EP350 sub. I am stoked....I can't wait until they come in. I am especially putting myself through torture since I decided to order through the factory outlet and the wait time on the QS8s is 8 weeks. I just have to suffer a little longer with my 10 year old Acoustimas/Cerwin-Vega setup until they arrive. I also ordered speaker and sub cables from Heartland and they should arrive well ahead of the speakers themselves. Based upon what I read from this board, the Axioms should be an excellent pairing with what I consider to be a pretty sweet HT setup:

Yamaha RXV2500 Receiver
Monster HTS2600 Power Center
Sony 55" Grand WEGA LCD HDTV
Sony DCPN655P DVD/CD Player
Samsung DirecTV DVR
XBox/PS2
Apple Airport Express (wireless iTunes and high speed link for XBox Live!)

I cant wait to play Halo 2 over these speakers! I want to thank everyone on this board who has contributed honest evaluations of these speakers (especially Mark on his Mother of all Posts!). I will provide an update when they come in.
Pete
Welcome aboard.....

Ditto
Congratulations on the new purchase. I think you're going to really like them. I'm running the same setup except I already had a PSB sub before I discovered Axiom.

If you have one long-lead FO item sometimes Axiom takes pity on you and ships sooner. No promises but you might get lucky
Welcome to the Axiom experience! Looks like you'll have a great setup....

I wish I had your patience and ordered from the outlet, could have saved some money.
Yes!! Welcome!!!

I agree with the F.O. comment; I couldn't wait either, but it's STILL a bad thing, my new speakers are on the Fed-Ex truck here in town RIGHT NOW!!!

HURRY, Get Here, Get Here!!!

Gads, what a bummer; Some folks nervously pace, some smoke excessively, or drink too much while waiting-I seem to ramble on the keyboard!

My appologies to all concerned. But, Where Are They? They've been here in town for almost two hours now. Arrrrrrgh!

Hey!, You're right, that just might do it!!

I looked around the house and all I can find is coffee!
I'm already wearing a path to the pottie cause of that-oops, sorry about the "Pottie" comment, we're raising four of our grandkids, and that's the word currently in use. Thankfully the one still at home and not in school yet is taking a nap, it's bad enough waiting as it is, without a little one about.

Anyway, WHERE'S THAT TRUCK???(The next pot of coffee gets an Extra Scoop!)

Oh Phooie, the little one's awake, darn. What the heck, She'll make the time just FLY by...with all her little demands. lol

But, Hey, thanks for the suggestions! cool.

Rich.

Hey ya know if you would have ordered 4weeks ago when you were contemplating which posse to join you would have them by now. lol

i wandered this forum since before the summer and just odered in jan.
Hi folks...thought I would let you know that I decided to forgo the factory outlet route and change my order to A-stock. They arrived yesterday and not only do they sound incredible but they are beautifully built. The cabinet edges are so perfectly finished its hard to tell they are veneers at all. I am still awaiting cables from Heartland but decided to hook them up with the wire I had available from the old system (I just couldnt wait). I calibrated the system and set the speaker levels with the RXV2500 YPAO optimizer. I had some trouble with the EP350 turning on so I had to adjust the sub input level from the RXV manually to set the level to reliably turn the sub on. Once everything was set, I used 'Pearl Harbor' and Pat Metheny's "Still Life Talking" as my movie/music preview material. Bass response during the Pearl Harbor bombing scene was very tight and well-controlled. Best description is 'omni-present and enveloping but not overly so'. I was really impressed with the VP100 center channel performance; dialogue was not muddy or disconnected but very crisp considering the speaker size and seemed to emanate from the screen rather than from a localized source. The Bose were notorious for this. The 5.1 source was presented very well; overhead fly-bys, explosions, etc. were reproduced very well and provided an engaging experience. Listening to Pat's guitar in stereo mode was nothing short of a spiritual experience. I highly recommend 'Last Train Home' and 'Third Wind' off of 'Still Life..' as a great way to audition these speakers. The combination of acoustic, electric as well as vocals provides a great combination of transition material to experience these speakers with. I am very, very happy with my purchase (and the wife hasnt complained about how they look either!) and thank everyone for helping me make this choice.
